Our stunning 22-acre garden, home to over 6,000 plant, shrub, and tree species, offers the perfect setting for a wedding tailored to your vision.
Enjoy breathtaking photo opportunities and explore our hidden Victorian cellars and secret tunnels leading to the sea.
We give you the option to host large celebrations, intimate ceremonies for close family and friends, or even the option of exclusively hiring the whole garden to yourselves.
Imagine your wedding ceremony under summer blue skies, engulfed by sights and sounds of New Zealand. Married near endearing Pavillion, witnessed by your family and friends, surrounded by exotic, rare and beautiful plants - you are imagining the Ventnor Botanic Garden.
In addition to our fantastic outdoor space, we have indoor rooms and a restaurant, allowing you to make the most of our unique venue for your special day.
There’s no need to worry about the weather, as every wedding has the safety net of our elegant Echium room with floor to ceiling windows that overlook the Mediterranean pond, surrounded by 16ft tall Echium flowers. The balcony doors compliment the sound of the trees, and the trickling water of the Mediterranean pond transports you to another place.
There is an abundance of stunning photo opportunities for you and your guests to enjoy, including a Victorian built tunnel leading to the cliff edge, with wonderful sea views to Steephill Cove and beyond.

Lera was there supporting us and guiding us, ensuring everything ran smoothly from the minute we got in touch to helping me with my dress and veil before I went down the aisle. All our guests commented on how lovely the staff were and what a gorgeous venue it was. It’s perfect for a smaller wedding and has the option for more space if you want a bigger party. We opted for a smaller guest list and it was perfect. The gardens are stunning and you can get gorgeous photos, have your ceremony and reception all in one beautiful location. - BBeth & Nick17/11/2024Amazing Winter Wedding Venue!Amazing Winter Wedding Venue!We fell in love with the venue before we even saw it in person, and when we could visit we knew it was perfect for what we wanted. During the course of planning our wedding, VBG were experiencing a change in their wedding coordination team. This meant we had 3 different wedding coordinators across the planning process, however our final coordinator Lera was PHENOMENAL. She took charge of the process and ensured all of my very specific questions were answered in detail. On the day, Lera was fantastic, and made sure everything ran without a hitch! After the wedding day was over, my MOH informed me that the music I had provided for the ceremony hadn't worked, but Lera had sorted it all without raising any concerns, and it ran so smoothly my husband and I didn't even notice! The food provided by their on-site chef was exceptional - we asked for a custom menu, using none of the sample menus, and they were able to cater for this! We had individual strawberry trifles for pudding, and were particularly impressed with the presentation in mason jars, not to mention the amazing flavours they had. VBG allow you to decorate the venue however you like, and are on hand to support with this. We worked with external suppliers and Lera coordinated with them to arrange arrival times and delivery locations. The venue is also ideal for photographs - we had a November Wedding and we were still able to take pictures outside. We could not recommend this venue more, as we really did have the best day of our lives! Initially, our first wedding coordinator was fantastic, but after he left, communication became difficult for a few months. Eventually, we were introduced to a new coordinator, and I was a bit nervous before our first meeting. However, when Lera walked in, she immediately put me at ease! She was exactly what I needed, and from that point on, communication was excellent. Lera was always available to offer advice, answer questions, and guide us through every step. The wedding day itself surpassed all our expectations. We held the ceremony in the NZ Garden, enjoyed a drinks reception in the Palm Garden, and had a marquee set up by the restaurant for our wedding breakfast. The DJ set the perfect vibe with an Ibiza-style rave at the outside bar in the Fountain Courtyard. Antony was brilliant and so accommodating. We did change our guest numbers and they were absolutely fine with it. The food was amazing and the mocktail was divine. It did rain on our day but the view was still so beautiful even in the rain! We got some fabulous pictures especially through the tunnel which we got as much access to as we wanted. Amazing wedding! Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
It was a hot, sunny summer day, perfect for a wedding of 60 guests. A beautiful marquee was set up in the enchanting New Zealand Garden. After the heartfelt ceremony, all the guests moved to the Palm Garden to enjoy refreshing, fruity Pimms and delicious canapés. As everyone returned to the marquee, they were treated to an incredible meal accompanied by warm and heartfelt speeches from close family members. The day concluded with endless dancing and joyous celebration, all set to the lively tunes of a fun and energetic band!
