Description
East Afton Farmhouse is located on the Western side of the Isle of Wight and offers a secluded exclusive-use wedding venue in a rural countryside setting. The venue has three event barns licensed for ceremonies, landscaped gardens, accommodation sleeping up to 20 & a main courtyard.
The largest of the three barns features floor-to-ceiling glass, brick pillars and rustic wood cladding. This is ideal for the main event- sit-down meal, dancing and entertainment. This heated barn has a capacity of up to 170 sit-down and 250 evening.
The two smaller barns are in contrast to each other and are perfect for indoor welcome drinks, entertainment or ceremonies. The venue also has a licensed bar, furniture, a commercial kitchen and toilet facilities included.
Furthermore at our sister farm- Tapnell, only a 2-minute drive from the venue, we can also accommodate another 100 guests, as well as offering a restaurant, farm park, aqua park, and lots more fun activities for your guests. As a destination venue, ferry discounts are also available to guests staying with us.
For weddings, the Farmhouse, Annex and Event Barns are all hired together for four nights from a Thursday through to a Monday with prices starting from £7,500 or 3 nights from a Monday- Thursday (without accommodation) starting from £3000. We can offer hire with or without inclusive food & drink package options, so there is something for everyone. The most important thing for us is that with our help, you can create a day that is unique to you, and everything we offer reflects the flexibility of this. With our booking options, you have plenty of time to set up and make the most of the celebrations, with a relaxed and stress-free mini-break, making memories with family & friends.

These prices cover mid-week or weekend hire of the venue. The hire of the venue includes use of all 3 wedding barns and outdoor areas, plus furniture, linen, wedding coordinator. The weekend hire includes accommodation for 20 within the farmhouse and annex as well (mid-week this is a surcharge)

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
All of our weddings are so unique and different- that is the best bit- none of them are the same. Each wedding has something we love. One of our favourites was a festival style wedding with food trucks and dining in the courtyard- they were blessed with a beautiful sunny day!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It's never too soon! To give yourself lots of options, we'd recommend getting in touch with suppliers as soon as possible after you have booked your venue. Most only ask for a small deposit, but securing the date means you can select your favourite businesses to be a part of your day.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Guest favours of illustrations. We have an amazing illustrator local to our venue- Chloe Alexander Studios, who created the most beautiful place names/ wedding favours with a drawing for every person on their place setting when they sat down. This was unique and personalised and a lovely thing for each guest to take home

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The most beautiful sunset photos are on the entrance driveway. The perfect spot for a confetti photo is through the main house front doors with the house as the backdrop. A group photo sits nicely in our courtyard around the centre lamp post- your photographer can go on the roof terrace to take the photo if they don't have a drone. Get away for some alone time with couples photos under the grape vines, under the stone porch, in the flower garden or under the trees.

What is your venue's most unique feature?
We offer guests lots of time at the venue. A weekend hire is 4 days and mid-week is 3 days. As a result the overall experience is stress-free & lasts for more than just a day. You can create memories with family and friends. Add on the accommodation as well (included in our weekend hire but surcharge mid-week) and the combination is spot on for a destination wedding celebration!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We are most proud of the newest wedding barn. Built in 2021, we started this from the ground up purpose-built for hosting the perfect wedding celebrations at East Afton. We put a lot of thought into the design process, layout, practicability and lots more. It borders our courtyard, which is the best spot for guests to mingle & have fun!
