What is the guest capacity for ceremonies and receptions?
We have different size event spaces available to use throughout the hotel, each with different capacities but suited to all sizes of weddings. Your designated wedding Co-ordinator will be able to guide you through the options from Micro Weddings to grander occasions of 100+.
Are there multiple Spaces for Ceremony, Drinks Reception and Evening Reception?
Yes we are fortunate to have multiple spaces that all can be utilised for your big day. Our Victoria Suite and Cairn suite are purpose designed for celebrations and really help your day flow.
Do you offer indoor and outdoor options?
Yes, We have various function rooms and are fortunate to have expansive gardens with a large lawn area that is perfect for outdoor ceremonies. We can also accommodate outside dining spaces such as marquees. Your wedding coordinator will be able to advise fully.
Do you allow outside caterers?
Our in house chefs can cater for any dietary requirements but we of course understand on some occasions the need for external catering. If this is the case we have specific requirements that are required to be met and your coordinator will be able to give you these in detail.
Can you cater for dietary restrictions and allergies
Yes, our chefs are well used to working to guests requirements and allergies.
Please do however note, our kitchen does produce food that contain allergens at other times.
Can we bring our own vendors?
Yes, we work alongside a variety of vendors to ensure your day runs perfectly smooth. During your planning appointments your coordinator will note any outside suppliers and help integrate them into your day.
Any vendors that offer food or drinks may result in a surcharge
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes, all our function spaces are on the ground floor and access to the hotel via the main entrance where there is a ramp for step free access. We also have ground floor bedrooms.
Will there be a venue co-ordinator on site the day of?
Of course, our experienced Wedding and Events team will be on hand throughout the day to ensure everything runs as planned guiding your from prep to dancing.

Tinto Hotel is nestled in the charming village of Symington, South Lanarkshire, at the foot of Tinto Hill and close to the historic market town of Biggar in the heart of Central Scotland. Surrounded by beautiful Scottish countryside, our gardens provide the perfect backdrop for those all-important wedding photos.
We’re conveniently located just over an hour from Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Carlisle, with the M74 and A702 only a few miles away, making it easy for guests traveling from near or far to join your celebration.
Can we use the gardens for photographs
Absolutely! We’re lucky to have several acres of beautiful gardens, and on your wedding day, your coordinator can grant you access to our private pond area, with stunning views of Tinto Hill, perfect for capturing those special photographs.
