Situated on the edge of the historic market town of Strathaven in South Lanarkshire, our 18th century country house has undergone a major refurbishment and is a stunning location for a wedding. Our stylish Strathaven Suite, with floor to ceiling windows (and access to the gardens) is complete with it’s own reception area and bar, offering complete privacy for you and your guests. We can accommodate up to 160 guests for a seated wedding breakfast and 200 guests for an evening reception. Or for an intimate wedding choose The Overton, accommodating up to 30 for dining. With complimentary parking, 22 bedrooms, and fantastic food, Strathaven Hotel has everything you need. Whether you have a clear vision for your wedding or need help with planning, our team are happy to assist in any way we can. We have a selection of packages to help make planning easier. However, these are not set in stone, and special requests can be easily incorporated.

We had our wedding at the Strathaven Hotel and it was truly incredible from start to finish. The small room was perfect for our intimate ceremony — cosy, romantic, and exactly what we wanted. We then moved into the bigger room, which worked brilliantly for the day. The roaming wedding band during the meal created such a lovely atmosphere, and there was more than enough space for our evening guests and the bigger band later on. The layout flowed perfectly and felt really natural. A special mention has to go to Morgan, who was an absolute superstar throughout the whole planning process and on the day itself. Her energy, positivity, and can-do attitude made everything feel sorted and stress-free. Even on the wedding day she went above and beyond — nothing was too much trouble. She truly helped make our day as special as it was. If you’re looking for a beautiful, versatile venue with genuinely fantastic staff, I cannot recommend the Strathaven Hotel highly enough. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate the best day of our lives. We honestly don’t have the words to describe how perfect this venue is. We had so many compliments from our guests about how amazing the venue was, the food was delicious, the staff are amazing and how beautiful the venue itself is. From the first visit to view the venue, we knew it was the one for us. I’ve heard horror stories from my friends about their venues and about how their wedding coordinators at their venues were hard to get hold of etc, but the service at Strathaven Hotel throughout the entire process of planning our wedding was exceptional. Now to mention Morgan…where do I even begin? Morgan is sunshine personified. She is an absolute all round legend. She is so professional and she is exceptional at her job as well as being so kind, caring and warm. She genuinely cares about her job and about every couple she deals with, and she was incredible throughout the entire planning process and on the day itself. She must’ve helped thousands of couples with their wedding day, and had the same kinds of conversations hundreds of times, but she has a real talent at making you feel like she is so excited for you and genuinely wants you to have the perfect day. The entire team were professional, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our day as special as possible. To the staff at the Strathaven Hotel, and my Morgan! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for yesterday. We genuinely couldn’t have asked for everything to go better. For us, it really was the perfect day. The timing was spot on, nothing was too much trouble and there wasn’t a single thing we had to worry about. The bar staff, Emma, the chef… all did everything in a way that meant we never even noticed that everything was being made perfect not only for us but for all of our guests. From the very first venue viewing to the day itself, Morgan, Lisa and the team went above and beyond to ensure that we had the perfect day exactly as we had pictured it. The team were always on hand in the months running up to the wedding, and day itself ran like clockwork. The service, food and drinks were fantastic and all of our guests commented what a fabulous venue the Strathaven Hotel is.
