We offer the historic Tithe Barn and gardens on an exclusive use basis, for you and your guests, with no one else around. As you approach up the tree lined avenue, past the horses and the village cricket pitch, you are met by the impressive gates to the Manor and enter into a haven of tranquility with goldfish and lilies on the pond and marvel at the subtle majesty of our Medieval Grade II* Listed Tithe Barn. Our site is simply spaceous, so spaceous, like something from a Thomas Hardy novel.
St. Peter's church is within walking distance should you want a traditional service or we are licensed for relaxed weddings inside and out. We're so relaxed, you can do it all yourself, or we can guide and provide depending on the time you have to plan. Our wonderful elevated stone Summerhouse within the walled garden is licensed for wedding ceremonies, as is the main hall of the barn with its wooden polished floor. Marry in the gardens, drink and celebrate in our English Country Garden, surrounded by the scent of honeysuckle and lavender; then dine and dance under our impressive vaulted ceiling. The walled garden lawn lends itself perfectly to a marquee or tipi if you wanted a touch of something different. New to weddings, this is a rare opportunity.
We have accommodation for the wedding party on site in The Lodge and Manor Stables, plenty of parking and a list of tried and tested brilliant suppliers to put together the best day of your lives. Summer weddings in the gardens or winter weddings by the fireplace, we have got it covered. Large or small guest numbers, we can create just the right ambience for you. Hinton St Mary sits on the River Stour, is surrounded by rolling countryside and offers the perfect wedding weekend retreat.

Here at Hinton St Mary, we offer the most incredible setting - a listed building, beautiful grounds and stunning gardens. Your experience at Hinton St Mary will be unique however I personally have 20 years experience, having planned and run hundreds of weddings, so if you need a little bit of help with the detail, it will be my pleasure.

- HHannah-Beth & Will22/04/2026Hinton St Mary Estate Wedding Apr 2026Hinton St Mary Estate Wedding Apr 2026HMSE is the most gorgeous, stunning, english countryside-feel venue, and we had the best day of our lives with our wedding recption here in early April 2026! The venue is perfect for an outdoor garden reception cocktail hour (or 3!), which we started in the lower sunken garden with the pond, and then went into the walled garden outside the barn where we had a marquee for some protection from light rain. The gardens have beatiful flow, with a tunnel.of trees, gorgeous flowers, and ponds. The walled garden itself has a turret where my father did his speach too. We then used the barn itself for our dinner and party! The raised stage at the front of the barn was fantastic for both our string quartet during our meal and then the band once the dancing started. And the barn also has a upper gallery with a view over it all from the back, perfect for us to get a few minutes breather as just the two of us to soak the whole day in :) With speaches we were loud enough to just speak to the room from our table. Gail is the estate manager, and was incredible. From start to finish her professionalism and warmth made us feel in great hands, her recommended suppliers were a dream to work with, and we also hired her as our personal wedding coordinator for ourselves too - shes brilliant and we couldnt recomment her more!! We had the best day here and highly recommend HSME for anyones wedding. Gail was so helpful during our prep and having the venue for the whole weekend made for such a great celebration. The flexibility and freedom to do what we wanted as it was dry hire meant we really made it our own and we received so many positive comments from our guests! Gail was very helpful and knowledgable about the venue, and gave us lots of ideas for how the day could run, the table layout, and good local suppliers. The gardens are beautiful, the guests loved exploring them and they provided a nice experience for guests thoughout the day using them. There are lots of good photo spots. The barn itself has a lovely atmosphere. The cottages adjacent to the barn are a great, conenient place to stay and get ready.Hinton St Mary estate was a very charming, perfectly maintained, and immaculately presented dry hire wedding venue. We are so over the moon that we picked The Tithe Barn at Hinton St Mary Estate as our wedding venue. It gives the most stunning 'blank' canvas you would ever need for a wedding, allows you to make it your own, but without needing too much decoration. The gardens are so incredibly beautiful and have made the perfect backdrop for our pictures. We couldn't have pictured our wedding anywhere else. Wow what a setting! The most beautiful venue which has it ALL!We live close to the Hinton St Mary Estate and frequently visit The White Horse - an excellent pub. When we got engaged we wanted to look around this venue to see what it was like as it was the perfect location for us. We were blown away by how beautiful the grounds are - they are kept perfectly by the team of gardeners, and the addition of having the church onsite, with the Tithe Barn and cottages was just perfect! We were so lucky and had fabulous sunshine, so after a wonderful Church service we welcomed our guests to the sunken garden for our champagne reception and speeches. The dinner, and later dancing, in the Tithe Barn was perfect - and I personally loved that there are proper loos here so no need for the portaloo situation! We decided to also have a stretch tent outside the Tithe Barn which we used for after dinner cocktails, tea and coffee - it was the perfect break-away from dinner, and meant our catering team could clear the Tithe Barn in preparation for the disco-ball lit dancing that was to come. It was such an amazing day/evening, and we were feeling very pleased that we had managed to snag such a great venue so close to home. On the Sunday we organised a pizza van to rock up, and had a very chilled afternoon in the sunshine with the remaining guests. The barn is gorgeous, the lounge area upstairs was brilliant for our guests who wanted a rest and the toilets are beautifully decorated! As soon as we arrived, we knew Hinton was the one! This was the venue of our dreams! Gail was fantastic, always happy to help with our many questions and walked us through everything we needed to know. The grounds are stunning and it was such a privilege to be able to wander around - locations for beautiful photos endless! All of our guests were blown away by the gardens, the barn and the beautiful and charming characteristics of the venue, which is so full of history too. We had an amazing time designing our wedding exactly how we wanted it - which is the beauty of a dry-hire venue, and it certainly paid off on the day. Staying in the cottages on site took so much stress out of travelling on the day and these were just lovely. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the venue's event planner, she helped us hugely from the moment of visiting to the moment of walking down the aisle. We honestly could not have chosen a more perfect venue for us as a couple, who wanted to get married outside and celebrate with all of our friends and family in such an incredible setting. We'll treasure The Tithe Barn for the rest of our lives and we'll be back to celebrate anniversaries in the cottage, I'm sure.
