Wedding Receptions at the Plough & Harrow Hotel are as important to us as they are to the Bride & Groom.
We want you to enjoy the occasion and every special moment, so that you can treasure the memories for years to come.
This historic Victorian hotel set in its own grounds provides an idyllic & peaceful setting for your wedding reception. The traditional hotel, warm hospitality, superb food from locally sourced produce and the “Country House in the city” setting combine to make the Plough & Harrow Hotel an extremely popular wedding venue in Birmingham.
The elegant Terrace Room, with a balcony and patio overlooking the garden, can comfortably hold up to 100 guests for a wedding breakfast and up to 150 for the evening reception.
There is a varied choice of menus and packages available for weddings and our Events manager will be delighted to arrange a time to meet with you and discuss your individual requirements in detail, confirm the availability of dates and provide you with a full breakdown of the costs & the deposit required to confirm your booking.

- PPaula & Andy19/06/2024We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding dayWe couldn’t have asked for a better wedding dayOur wedding was for approximately 60 day guest’s with a further 40 attending our wedding reception. The location in the heart of Birmingham was perfect for us, great transport links and free parking. The plough an Harrow is a gem of a building a country house feel in the heart of the second city. We had our ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception here. The food was lovely and the staff were friendly nothing was too much trouble, dietary requirements were catered for and everyone had a fantastic experience. Many of our guests stayed overnight, the rooms are spacious some are a little dated but nothing that spoilt the day. The bridal suite was beautiful and very in keeping with the buildings history. The terrace room is a gorgeous and beautifully dressed by Clare. We had access to an outdoor terrace and small garden was something you would be hard pressed to find at any other city centre venue. All of our guests have commented it was such a lovely day, it was welcoming and relaxed and the option of an evening BBQ rather than the traditional Buffett was a great hit. The bar area has a piano and following the recommendations of our wedding coordinator we booked a pianist who played and kept our guests entertained until the evening reception, we hired an led dancefloor which transformed the terrace room and bought a fantastic day to a close. I cannot praise Emma and her marvellous team there enough. We received the most attentive service from all members of staff throughout the whole weekend. From our first meeting, when we looked around the hotel to our check out following our daughter's wonderful wedding weekend, we had the best experience. Nothing was too much trouble for any member of staff. Throughout the planning process, Emma was always on hand to answer any questions we had. She gave great supplier suggestions, which was particularly helpful as we are not local to the area, and her attention to detail really helped to make the day run smoothly. The reception room looked lovely on the day, the food was great and the atmosphere was fantastic. We had the best time. All the staff were brilliant and couldn't have done enough for us or our guests, nothing was too much. The food was fantastic, the main room was beautiful! Many of our guests had rooms to stay in too and they all said they we're lovely, me and my new wife had the bridal suite and it was very luxurious and the bed was very comfortable.
