Secluded away in the Nottinghamshire countryside lies the Old Vicarage at Elkesley, a rustic, relaxed and chilled out Tipi venue. Whether you’re looking for an informal wedding with street food vans or formal wedding, or just something a bit different, we believe that our venue and rural location are the perfect choice for your magical day.
Weddings of up to 150 people seated and have onsite bars, indoor and outside firepits and views across beautiful countryside. You are able to decorate the tipi, yurt or marquee however you would like, giving you the opportunity to create your very own bespoke wedding, personal to you from Thursday of your wedding. Unusual, alternative, casual and a blank canvas all fit with our venue
The Log Cabin, our Bridal Suite sleeps 6 guests and the 17th Century Coach House sleeps 4 guests. Both can be utilized throughout the day at your convenience to freshen up. We also offer a camping field on site, where you can hire in bell tents for your guests to stay or guests can bring their own tents caravans. All with electric hook ups. We have on site ladies and gents showers and toilets and a children's zip wire and swings. We offer something different from the norm, a personalized service. Whether large or small, flamboyant or informal we look forward to help make that special day a wonderful and memorable experience for you and your guests. The most important day of your life deserves the most perfect venue.
A fairy-tale setting for a magical wedding. The winding tree lined drive provides an excellent approach for the Bride and Groom by either Horse and Carriage, Limousine or Camper Van.
Situated on the outskirts of the country village of Elkesley near Retford, Nottinghamshire. The Old Vicarage is a wedding venue that is classic yet modern, low-key yet elegant, intimate but fun, a little quirky, unusual and most certainly adventurous.

- AAlistair & Louise01/11/2022Whatever we wantedWhatever we wantedWe escaped here and stayed in the coach house (which has a great view over the campsite from the balcony) for our elopement wedding. Sue and the team were awesome and went out of their way to look after us, attending to all the small detail of the limited ‘wedding bits’ that we actually had in our simple ceremony. We had such a blast and enjoyed Sue’s enthusiasm and the company of her and her team and indeed the environment which allowed us to create and enjoy whatever we wanted. As a campsite (and we have stayed at many), this was great … perfect for families and a shallow river (inches deep in parts) where those brave enough to try English waters could do so safely. We shall be returning and it’s just a question of when.We escaped here and stayed in the coach house (which has a great view over the campsite from the balcony) for our elopement wedding. Sue and her family did an absolute amazing job with helping in every way to organise our outdoor wedding. Sue really couldn’t do enough for me, she was always available for a chat or a zoom meeting, she had tonnes of ideas and kept me organised and calm. She has lots of contacts for amazing suppliers, she thought of lovely tiny details and they all spent a lot of time in the days before our wedding to make it look magical and perfect. My advice, trust Sue in what she is saying, she has overseen a thousand weddings and really knows her sh*t. The venue is amazing! All my guests loved the grounds and the Bar is brilliant in the Cave. Plenty of space available for campers also. All staff were excellent. They made sure that our needs were met throughout the day and were extremely pleasant to all of our guests. Sue (the wedding coordinator) was present throughout and regularly checked to see if we were okay. Would highly recommend this venue!!Stunning venue! The grounds are very well kept and the on site accommodations were fantastic! Plenty of space available for campers also. All staff were excellent. The grounds are beautiful and absolutely idyllic! The day ran so smoothly with the help of Sue and Sophie and we can't thank them enough for all of the hard work they put in to setting our wedding up! After a few suppliers either cancelled or messed up royally in the few days before the wedding, the venue and everyone there made the day so perfect and we couldn't have had a better day if we tried! It was absolutely perfect for our camping themed wedding. The majority of our guests stayed over in Camper Vans, Caravans and tents and had a lovely weekend. Sue and all the staff made it a day to remember, making sure everything went to plan. All our guests said it was the most chilled out Wedding they had ever been to in the prettiest surroundings. There is nowhere else we would have ever chosen. The day was so special and uncountable amounts of guests all said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We gave them quite the challenge with many many many things going on throughout the whole day. Pinatas, duck racing, obstacle courses. We had just under 200 guests. They allowed us an entire week to set up our vast amount of decorations and allowed us the time to pack away too. You really become part of the whole family at the Old Vicarage. What a beautiful venue and such a special place for anyone to have their special day. I have nothing but great memories and will am eternally grateful for Sue and the teams efforts.Sue and Sophie really went above and beyond for our special day. The picture do not do justice for how beautiful this place really is! The trees, the river and the vicarage itself are absolutely stunning and make for some unbelievable wedding photos! The cave bar is very impressive and a great rustic touch to the venue, Sue allowed us to have a duck race in the river which was so much fun for our guest! A little stressed about how the day would go as never done this before but sue kept everything in line and on time explained the next steps for us and the staff were very attentive friendly and polite! We had to change the date multiple times due to covid but Sue allowed us do make changes without any stress!
