The Dower House Hotel offers a delightful choice of setting, whether your wedding is a small intimate affair or a larger celebration. Inside the atmosphere of The Dower House Hotel creates a sense of romance and charm. Outside, the grounds provide the ultimate backdrop for your wedding photography.
Our fabulous Folly in the beautiful hotel grounds is licensed for Civil Ceremonies, and our elegant Orchard Suite will accommodate you and your guests for your delicious Wedding Breakfast meal. You can then dance the night away under our stunning sparkly ceiling.
We will take care of every detail from the planning through to your big day. Our excellent team will be on hand to help every step of the way to ensure your dream day is everything you could wish for and more.
We have packages, carefully planned to ease your wedding planning worries, and if these don't suit your dream day, our experienced Wedding Planner will create a bespoke package just for you.
Don't want anyone else at the hotel apart from your guests for your dream day? No problem! Enquire about our exclusivity packages. But rest assured we only host one wedding per day so yours will be the only celebration hosted at the Hotel on your special day.

We have licensed venues both in our lovely hotel and in our beautiful grounds for Civil Ceremonies.
We have a variety of rooms for your wedding breakfast and evening receptions depending on the size of your wedding.
We only host one wedding per day.
We have packages designed for 80 day guests and 100 evening guests and for 60 day guests and 80 evening guests.
We can accommodate a maximum of 120 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 180 for your evening Reception.
We can offer exclusivity of our entire Country House Hotel.
We have 21 bedrooms available for your guests to book for overnight accommodation.

The day ran like clockwork and we've had so many friends and family telling us how lovely the day was. From the beginning, Carolyn answered all of our many questions, nothing was too much. She helped us throughout the whole process and made us feel so relaxed. You won't find this attention to detail anywhere else Carolyn and her team made our wedding day feel magical. The food was incredible and the staff were so organised. The day ran like clockwork and we've had so many friends and family telling us how lovely the day was. From the beginning, Carolyn answered all of our many questions, nothing was too much. She helped us throughout the whole process and made us feel so relaxed. We felt engaged with and in control every step of the way. Communication, mainly by email, was always efficient and engaging and nothing was ever too much trouble. On the wedding day itself, all the staff went above and beyond, taking the time to introduce themselves to us personally and making sure we wanted for nothing. The weather on the day was glorious (10th June) and we were able to get married outside under the folly - the most idyllic and romantic location. We loved the fact that we were exclusive, unlike some of the bigger hotels that perhaps run at least one other wedding on the same day. The food was beautiful and plentiful and all of our guests commented on the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the staff from the minute they arrived to the minute they went to bed. The following morning, all our gifts and things like left over cake, had been carefully packaged up by the staff and made us packing up much simpler than it otherwise might have been. We have been to other weddings at larger venues, where you simply do not get this level of service or personal touch that you do at the Dower House. All of the staff genuinely cared about us and our guests and enjoyed the day alongside us, singing along with the band and chatting with guests. Carolyn was so lovely and really helped the process and was always happy to help and offer support and reminders in the run up to the wedding - especially as we planned it within 9 months. We really got to know a lot of the staff over the planning and can’t thank Carolyn, Max or the rest of the team enough. Always had such a lovely professional experience with the food and wine tasting and every visit we have made. It was a perfect day and everything felt so magical from start to finish. The food was fantastic, the gardens and venue looked beautiful and we have memories to last a lifetime. From the moment we went to view the hotel back in 2021 Carolyn has been really amazing, always on hand to help and answer any questions we had along the way and running around behind the scenes on the day making sure everything was as it should be! (which of course it was!) The hotel itself is stunning and the grounds are absolutely beautiful, the setting is just lovely and so peaceful. On our wedding day all the staff were so helpful and lovely and could not do enough for us or any of our guests and we got so many compliments from our guests about their rooms and how delicious the food was and the service throughout the whole of their stay. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Having only joined the Dower House in August 2020, there's not many to pick from, but being able to move a couple's wedding from the 7th November to the 4th to squeeze it in before lockdown was fantastic for me, especially as it was my birthday on the 5th, so it was lovely to know we made that couple's special day able to go ahead with less than a week's notice of the change!!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Listen to the advice of others - but it is your day - do what makes you happy!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
I love dogs, so seeing a a bride walk down the aisle with her Goldie was brilliant!

Elegant, gorgeous grounds, tranquil, spacious, friendly
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The folly - where our outdoor ceremonies take place. Although the stained glass window on the landing in the main building is also beautiful.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Not yet- but if George or Ryan ever want to stop by - that's fine with me.
What’s your favourite canapé?
hmmm...something with breaded brie and cranberry
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Bacon sarnie or a hog roast
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The outdoor ceremony Folly is pretty unique, as is that stained glass window in the main building.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our lovely new website which I worked on from November until it launched in January!!
