Description
Stone Barn is situated on a peaceful hill with sweeping views over the glorious Cotswold countryside. This historic building was transformed into a wedding barn by Cripps & Co, a family-run business that has nearly 30 years experience in creating weddings. The barn is located between Burford and Northleach on the Gloucestershire-Oxfordshire border. Stone Barn’s generous interior is enhanced by flagstone floors, a huge open fireplace, and wooden beams. It is an idyllic setting for a ceremony during the day and is transformed into a dance floor for the evening. Stone barn can hold up to 200 guests for a ceremony or 250 guests for your evening reception. Our adjoining Dutch barns have elegantly arched ceilings, beautiful corrugated iron roofs and sweeping views over the surrounding landscape. This split level space is set up for post-ceremony drinks at the gallery bar and wedding feasts down below. A large, open terrace has roaring fire pits to keep guests warm. The Dutch Barns can hold up to 194 seated guests. A wooden shelter in the Stone Barn grounds provides an idyllic spot for outdoor ceremonies in the summer, with views across the surrounding hills. Our in-house chefs design a personal menu and flame-grill food on a giant indoor BBQ (believed to be the biggest in the UK!) and rotisserie. We buy the best, cook it simply and serve it generously. An on-site team provides an exceptional service and can help with everything from the big ideas to the last minute details.

A special mention to Clayton and Flora who helped us decide that we couldn’t imagine having our reception anywhere else, and Jason and Nikki who were a delight leading up to our wedding and, of course, amazing on the day itself. Nothing was ever too much trouble. After our wedding Rob asked me if there was anything I would change. We honestly said no from the bottom of our hearts. This is in large part down to all of you, the amazing team you are and the time and effort you have put in to sourcing suppliers who are just as amazing. Pia at Vanilla Pod Bakery and Beth at Go Wild Flowers were brilliant. Thank you for making our wedding day perfect. The staff were really helpful and friendly, and ensured everything ran totally smoothly. Our guests loved the canapés and the meal - there was loads and it was all delicious! The venue was absolutely beautiful. If you’re in two minds about the venue, try visiting it in the dark as well as the day, because it’s just stunning in the evening, with the ceiling lights and fire pits adding that something special. The venue were also really helpful with suggestions for suppliers and things to include. We loved absolutely everything about the venue and day! We had an incredible wedding day at Stone Barn last weekend. The staff were really helpful and friendly, and ensured everything ran totally smoothly. Ask questions! We are always around to answer the quickest of questions, the longest chain of questions, the amazingly bizarre questions, and the most obvious, mundane or confusing questions - but we know that every question answered reassures the couple immensely; so never be afraid to ask, ask, ask away!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We love the 'find your face to find your place' seating plan - the couples must take ages gathering photos of all the guests, and it reminds the guests of times spent with the happy couple.

Our food! Our formula is “Buy the best, cook it simply, serve it generously”. We like to make our food dramatic as well as delicious, so have our huge feature kitchen where you can watch your feast unfold. Our food is served 'feast-style' on boards and in bowls to the centre of the table for guests to just dig into! Yum!
