Set in the tranquil Dorset countryside, St Giles House makes for your idyllic wedding venue. Providing an unforgettable and unique experience for you and your loved one to marry in a truly magical setting.
St Giles House is licensed to hold wedding ceremonies in any of the principal rooms of the house and has a maximum capacity of 120 guests. If you're looking for an outdoor ceremony, The Lake Lawn hosts the most remarkable views across the grounds and estate, whilst the18th-century Grotto, lined with shells brought back from the Caribbean, provides a unique and intimate ceremony location for up to 20 guests. If you're looking for a more traditional ceremony, St Giles Church is only at the end of the driveway.
Known as the venue with the best kept secret. If you're looking to dazzle your guests with the unexpected, our award-winning nightclub and speakeasy bar located in the basement will do just that. Take it from decadence to deca -"dance" in the evening.
Your booking with us includes a two-night stay in the 17th-century Riding House, as well as The Grooms Cottage; comprised of two Maisonettes that have been refurbished sleeping 4 in each. Additional accommodation is also available in the Pepperpot Lodges and St Giles House bedrooms, meaning 42 guests+ can be accommodated on-site with other local options within walking distance.

Upon booking we will book you in a call with one of our wedding coordinators upon booking to guide you through next steps and offer bespoke supplier recommendations based on your wedding inspiration. A stay in one of our Pepperpot Lodges on the night of your 6 week meeting.

The accommodation is worth mentioning too - the most beautiful interiors and finishes that our family and guests loved along with an incredible breakfast set-up in the riding house. There are so many beautiful spaces in the main house to use for each part of the day which provides great flow and guest experience and the ground are just as beautiful and provide endless options for beautiful portraits. Having exclusive hire of the entire estate for a whole weekend is such a luxury and its a weekend we will never ever forget. Throughout the planning process they were highly communicative. The venue is stunning and intricately designed and we received so many compliments from our guests. Lottie and the SGH team made our experience seamless from start to finish and the venue itself is just phenomenal. We wanted a classic British wedding followed by a party in a nightclub and St Giles offered exactly that. We want to come back and do it all over again!! We love how every room in the house is so unique and has its own character, including the accommodation. Then there is the club which is just epic, especially as no one expects it!! We're already wanting to go back for another party. The Riding House and Grooms Cottages are also a wonderful addition. We had a big diner on the Friday before the wedding in the Riding House and it was a lovely way to kick off the weekend with family and close friends.It couldn't have been a more perfect venue for a Christmas wedding!! Our guests were mesmerised and there is not a single thing we can complain about or would want to change. The staff are incredible and we found them to be extremely accommodating and helpful - I asked a lot of questions throughout the wedding planning process and Lottie & Charlotte were absolute experts in this field and had answers/solutions for us every time. You can tell the staff there love St Giles and are really passionate about it, which isn’t surprising because everything about it is exquisite. Hands down the best decision we ever made to have our wedding there, we didn’t want to leave and neither did our guests!We just hosted our wedding at St Giles on 18/07/24. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Each Wedding has been equally beautiful and all bring different characteristics to the venue. We had someone abseil into their ceremony to the sound of Abba, a roaming band walk all members of the party back to a champagne reception, romance novelesque ceremonies amongst the wild meadows. That's the beauty of St Giles, you have different styles every time.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Prioritise what aspects of your day means the most to you - create that list of non-negotiable things for the day and don't settle until you have curated your ideal day.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
An Acrobatic Air Display was put on by the couple for their Wedding guests as a total surprise. It was outstanding.

Historic, Iconic, Exclusive, Striking, Tranquil, Magical and Picturesque (sorry, I know it's more than 5).
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
In front of the Anteros Statue on the fountain with the house and grounds as the backdrop, or if we're talking golden hour, the bridge by the lake overlooking the house.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We have been very lucky to have hosted a number of celebrity guests, but discretion is important to us.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Savoury goats cheesecake, fig compote & bee pollen.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
This is a tough one - it also does depend on what is your favourite midnight munchies. But we love anything from toasties, to Dexters Happy Street Food, Fiery Fox Pizza and can't be forgetting John the Greek.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The 18th Century Shell Grotto - you can even use it for smaller ceremonies.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
The remarkable restoration project and our award-winning accommodation.

This offers you and all of your guests the opportunity to experience the magic of St Giles and all the luxuries of our weekend offering, on a Monday-Thursday basis in any season. All that’s different is the day of the week, and your drinks package which is now up to you. Corkage isn't included in the mid-week package so you are free to choose whatever option you like; one of our in house drinks packages, or opt to add corkage on to bring along your favourite wines and champagnes.
