Our hotel is licensed for civil ceremonies and offers all the flexibility so your day can be as you always imagined. The planning meetings were spot on and gave such reassurance it would all go smoothly. If you want a hotel filled with staff who all want to do well by you, then this is the hotel. They plan it all and then do extra that you hadn’t even thought about . The food is incredible, the rooms are amazing and we had extra space for getting ready. We genuinely felt like we were treated so well. Not once do you feel like you’re just another couple getting married because it’s personalised and nothing is too much trouble. All the staff work so hard and it pays off. Our guests were delighted with the service, food, set up. Get yourself a visit to the hotel if you’re looking for a venue. The venue itself is perfect with a lovely courtyard for guests to mingle in and beautiful gardens and the food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. But what makes this venue extra special though is the staff. Charlotte, the events Manager, was amazing from our first visit until the day itself and made sure everything was perfect and all the serving and reception staff were outstanding. We took advantage of the great overnight deal for wedding guests & were able to have a private buffet breakfast the next morning & then make use of the leisure facilities and the hotel courtyard and reception to sit and chat the next day. A great way to finish off a perfect wedding! It’s easy to see why Houston house is an award winning wedding venue. Definitely 5 stars from us! We can’t fault Houston House as a wedding venue! All the staff we encountered from our arrival the day before until we left the day after the wedding were so helpful , polite and amenable to our needs. Our day would not have happened without our Wedding Co- Ordinator Charlotte Lambie .She was brilliant from our 1st meeting until the Wedding again helpful, making sure everything was done when it should be and no request was too much trouble The Wedding Day was the most magical special day from start to finish . Charlotte, the Events Manager, was so helpful and efficient and very easy to deal with from our first meeting all the way through to the day itself. Nothing was too much trouble (even measuring the grass for us for the lawn games the day before!). In fact every single member of staff at the hotel was exceptional – whether it was the reception staff, serving team, bar staff or leisure team. They were all so friendly and helpful. The bride has noise sensitivity and Charlotte and the serving team went out of their way to make sure everything during service was as quiet as possible, which was SO amazing! The wedding breakfast & canapes were probably the best wedding food we have ever had and there were lots of compliments from guests. And guests with dietary requirements appreciated the chef and kitchen staff providing suitable tasty options for them. Being able to stay overnight (in amazingly comfy beds!) and all having breakfast together the next morning & using the leisure facilities was a lovely way to round everything off too. I don’t think the wedding party wanted to leave! We can’t recommend Houston House highly enough! If we were to do it all again, Houston House would still be our number 1 choice. As soon as we were taken on a tour of the hotel and grounds, we knew this was where we wanted to be married. Charlotte our wedding coordinator could not do enough for us in the lead up and on the day she ensured that everything ran smoothly. I felt so relaxed on my wedding morning knowing that everything was under control! Charlotte was always easily contactable and responded quickly to my emails. Andrew and the rest of the team made us and our guests feel so welcome from check in until check out. We opted to stay at the venue the night before along with some of our close friends and family and had a private section for dinner and drinks. We were lucky that the weather was on our side and got some beautiful wedding pictures and videography in the stunning grounds. We would highly recommend Houstoun House as a wedding venue. It is very hard to pick just one, it sounds cliché but every wedding is amazing in their own way, we have met incredible families who have travelled from a far, insane decor and some amazing entertainment !
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Remember it is your wedding day! Here at Houstoun House we thrive on making your day the way you want it, this includes flexible packages and a team that will go above and beyond to make your dream wedding a reality!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
There are so many! We had a wedding recently who had caricaturist transfer tattoos as their favours, there are so many little touches you can add, it is a very exciting time in the wedding industry!

Romantic, historic, flexible, inviting, beautiful grounds
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
With over 20 acres of private gardens, you will never be stuck for a beautiful photo opportunity - our vaulted bar is super quirky with lots of character which is also very popular for those indoor shots!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Yes! We had Carol Smillie is an accredited humanist celebrant with the Humanist Society Scotland, conducting humanist, non-religious weddings.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Our personal favourite, and the one selected by most couples, is our Haggis bonbons - they are a must try!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Homemade sausage rolls, they are amazing!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The Tower House which was built in the 1600s, we have managed to keep much of the history whilst putting a modern twist on some areas of the building.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Team Houstoun! We had a newlywed couple who described our tam perfectly recently - 'The team at Houstoun House are like a family, we felt welcomed in to that family as soon as we arrived.' and I could not agree more!
