I still can't believe that we got married in such a beautiful place.
From the picturesque drive to the grounds from the main road, to the striking appearance of the castle and all of it's impressive and unique features, to the breath-taking ceiling in the chapel - all of it is absolutely gorgeous.
As soon as we went to visit the castle & chapel we were certain that it was the venue for us, and it didn't disappoint.
Due to the pandemic, we had to move our date several times and eventually we decided split the day into two - our wedding ceremony in the chapel in May 2021 and our wedding reception in the castle in March 2022 once we were confident we could have a large number of family and friends without needing to wear masks or socially distance.
We were lucky enough to have lovely weather in March with a clear view of the sea and surrounded by trees, green fields, sheep and lambs. The castle itself really doesn't need any dressing, there are already some atmospheric lights in place to create a warm romantic feel and heaters if it gets cold, but there are also plenty of amazing local event design companies around who can really elevate the space if that's what you prefer. Our photos of the day are all really beautiful and a lot of our guests mentioned how amazing the venue was to us, even weeks later.
The caterers we used, Dorset Fine Dining, went above and beyond to make sure that both of us and our guests had everything we wanted & the staff were fantastic.
And finally, Sarah who was our contact at the Castle and the Chapel was truly brilliant. She answered literally thousands of questions and helped us navigate through numerous changes and dates and theoretical scenarios and unknowns. We always felt like she was on our side and nothing was too much trouble - she honestly made it all a lot less terrifying than it could have been having to move the wedding dates and we couldn't have done it without her.
Lulworth is such a special place to us, we feel so lucky to have found it and will definitely come back in the future to reminisce about our two wedding days! I still can't believe that we got married in such a beautiful place.
