Description
A perfect blank canvas for you to create the wedding you had been dreaming of. Everything is in your control, you have the freedom to choose the theme, the suppliers and anything else you can think of. The staff at Kinkell Byre will as much assistance as you require.
The Byre is exclusive use for you from the day before the wedding to set up and decorate (except for Sundays after a Saturday wedding).
Heating, cleaning, electricity and lighting throughout the venue is all included as well as an in-house bar that comes fully stocked and staffed from before your guests arrive through until 1am

We rent you exclusive use of the space for the day of your wedding and you. Your suppliers have access on the day before to set up and decorate (except for Sundays after a Saturday event).
Late finish with music and bar service until 1am

In-house bar - open from before guests arrive serving a wide range of stock. No corkage for specific amounts of drinks - get in touch for more details or see brochure. Drinks service options available and extensive wine list to order fizz and wines through us for your big day

The byre itself is a beautiful rustic setting but the ability to create a variety of romantic, fun and unique spaces was exactly what we were looking for. One of the most memorable features are the lighting installations, especially the beautifully lit ceremony space - something that we simply could not have replicated in any other venue. The flexibility within the byre allowed us to configure the spaces exactly how we wanted and the whole team went above and beyond to make sure our day was designed exactly how we wanted it. The venue is situated with stunning views over the St Andrew's coastline to the front and with the garden to the rear provides a variety of spots for photos without venturing too far. Kinkell provided everything we could have wished for in a venue and in the team on hand to help every step of the way. They allowing us to completely personalise our day and all our guests absolutely loved it. Being able to put our own stamp on it and the amazing effort the team all put throughout in made the day and run-up unbelievably good! The day went in a flash but we managed to pack so much in and the Kinkell team all made it run so so seamlessly - an amazing job dealing with suppliers, timings etc. which allowed us to fully enjoy ourselves! We visited Kinkell in Oct 2020 - 2 weeks after our engagement and Sophie gave us the two tours over the weekend. She was so so friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a good initial feeling about the venue- we had it booked 2 days after! It was also the first and only venue we viewed in person! The Kinkell team were absolute superstars, both answering my many emails with LOTS of queries. Nothing seemed too much hassle and they always responded super quick! A massive help was also Claire on the day who was like my third bridesmaid! Sorting my veil, decorating the cake, feeding me Prosecco when I was freaking out before going down the aisle and making sure we were ready for key photos/timings like the sparkler shot! Tegan was fab as well who had the not so lovely job of tidying up post-party and gathering our items for an easy pop in the car on Sunday. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, we found nowhere else near comparable. Spoilt for choice with so many beautiful spots for photos too. We chose Kinkell as we knew if we weren’t blessed with Scottish sunshine we would still get fab photos - luck was on our side and we were able to get photos in the orchard, against the red barn doors, the sea backdrop and by the golf course. It was such an amazing day we’ll never forget. I would highly recommend Kinkell to all future brides and grooms looking for a stunning barn venue to put their own stamp on! The flexibility with the space was great, we had a 9-hole mini golf course in one room which our guests loved. The eating and dancing area is beautiful, we could fit all our guests without the need for moving them for the dancing. The team at Kinkell are so helpful from the moment you first visit, they help the day itself run very smoothly. Would highly recommend! We had the best wedding day at Kinkell! Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
We have so many unique and amazing weddings at Kinkell Byre. What makes the Byre so amazing is that there is no two weddings that are the same, every wedding is so different because every couple can use their own creative décor ideas to dress the venue
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Start with your budget - start getting quotes from different suppliers that you would like to get an overview of what you are looking at cost wise.
We would suggest looking at caterers first as they are such a big part of your day. We have a list of recommended caterers on our website to have a look at. Then start looking for others such as bands, florists, photographers etc (also lists of these can be found on our website!) we say if you will be disappointed if a certain supplier is not available on your date then book them quickly! All they need to know at this stage is venue and date.
Use us - we have worked countless weddings and events and there is no question too silly or small. We understand you might not have organised anything at this scale and we know the venue and logistics inside out, so just ask anything and we'll help as much as we can!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We love when couples provide games to keep their guests occupied, it's such a great addition!
Adding photographs of your journey together is so lovely and a good way to add some inexpensive décor

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Many years ago when we first started doing student events we had members of the royal family attend a ball.
What’s your favourite canapé?
We love a canapé here, so anything goes! Bite sized nibbles like haggis balls and are usually a good shout. We're also seeing more grazing tables from caterers now to give guests a good selection of choice during the drinks reception
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Usually something easy to eat and a bit greasy works wonders for a late night snack - think chips, pizzas, bacon rolls or pies!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our gorgeous sea view, rustic old barns filled with so much character and charm. Also space! We have lots of room here which is great for different areas and different parts of your day.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
The fact we have been in the wedding and events industry for over 20 years and we still host over 90 events a year, its a great achievement from when we first started in 2003 when there were still cattle and tatties in the barn!
