Venue Hire available for ceremonies, full day weddings and wedding receptions. Ceremonies available in the historical Crucible Shop - featuring a listed wall and seating up to 90 guests! You and your guests then have exclusive access to the main museum from 4pm with amazing photo backdrops and the option to see the River Don Engine in steam!
Receptions take place in the industrial chic of the Upper Gallery - seating up to 200 guests with a further 50 standing.

- SStefan02/03/2025Great wedding venueGreat wedding venueAndy and Laura (and Laura at the Real Kelham) were always super helpful when we had queries, and with it being open to the public every day, we were able to visit the venue on short notice if we wanted to check something out. The venue was more than big enough for the 100 or so people we had invited for the evening, and also had a pretty late kicking out time compared to other inner-city venues. Andy was on site on the day to make sure everything ran smoothly. Hopefully won't be having another wedding, but would definitely use them again! Andy and Laura (and Laura at the Real Kelham) were always super helpful when we had queries, and with it being open to the public every day, we were able to visit the venue on short notice if we wanted to check something out. The venue was more than big enough for the 100 or so people we had invited for the evening, and also had a pretty late kicking out time compared to other inner-city venues. Andy was on site on the day to make sure everything ran smoothly. Hopefully won't be having another wedding, but would definitely use them again!

It has an industrial charm and the reception room needs so little decoration due to its original features. The team were so helpful and did everything they could to make our day just as we wanted it. Although there are some restrictions (I believe you are limited to certain caterers due to the venue not having a kitchen, and limitations on where confetti can be thrown), the team were flexible to our wishes. Booking process was easy and we were welcome to view as many times as we needed. We had a very useful meeting with the wedding co-ordinator a week before which meant everything ran smoothly. Extra points for not having to pack up the venue yourself on the night and not having to be there super early the next day to collect things. From first viewing the venue at the wedding fayre, we knew this was the place we would get married. The up and coming area looks gorgeous in the photos. We walked from the church right round to the venue... with some fab quirky pictures. Guest enjoyed a pub crawl to some of the real ale pubs before enjoying a welcome drink through the old Victorian street. We had so many compliments about how exciting it was to look around the museum. The kids loved it too with the soft play area and interactive stations. The day ran so smoothly with the help of the kelham island hospitality team.... Jane, Andy and Bex were all brilliant! Everyone loved the venue and they catered to all our needs of a nice relaxed wedding. We chose kelham island museum as we got married in the church down there.
