Create a bespoke wedding for your guests in our renovated Georgian coach house and barn, dine al fresco on the lawns or courtyard. What makes our venue truly special is the exclusive hire of our wonderful Georgian Country House which sleeps up to 10 guests. As we are an owner-operated team, we promise you a professional and personalised service with a down-to-earth approach making your event planning and big day seamless and memorable for all the right reasons. Hillmount House is located in Drains Bay, near Larne in Co. Antrim. Its rear gardens in lawns sweep down towards the sea. The renovated Georgian Coach House, with its open courtyard and upstairs terrace, is ideal for a drinks reception or indoor ceremony. The Barn is a sophisticated and elegant space, with its 8m long Art Deco bar that is giving serious 'Great Gatsby' vibes and can accommodate up to 150 people for ceremonies or dinner. Outdoor ceremonies can be held on the formal lawn over looking the sea or the wild meadow, if the weather allows! The wedding party are in for a treat when it comes to accommodation at Hillmount House. The main house sleeps up to 10 guests, boasting five double or twin bedrooms, and three bathrooms as well as a large kitchen dining room, drawing room, cosy living room and formal dining room, which are available for exclusive serviced hire. There is also private car parking on-site. For the rest of your guests, there are lots of lovely hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses in the area - just ask! We operate a one wedding per day policy. If you're looking for an epic wedding venue that also manages to feel like a home away from home, then we will be right up your street! Specialising in bespoke weddings, designed with the couple and their guests in mind, Hillmount House boasts a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and a charming, eclectic vibe that will appeal to any couple looking to create something a little different on their big day!

Arrive Friday from 2pm our housekeeper will be on hand to get you settled. Afternoon tea can be arranged upon request. Retire to five luxury double/twin bedrooms

Wedding Day
Start your day with our breakfast buffet served by our housekeeper who will ensure your morning is relaxed and runs smoothly. You can have an outdoor ceremony, weather permitting.
Formal Lawn, Orchard or Meadow. This includes all outdoor furniture.
Indoor ceremony space is available if required. Max guests 110 in The Coach House.
Enjoy your drinks reception in our coach house with open court yard and upstairs terrace. Full serviced bar available.
Host your wedding meal in our fully furnished barn, (maximum 150) food is not included within the price, but we have a list of fabulous caterers for you to choose from.
Party the night away with your guests then retire to the luxurious surrounding of Hillmount House.
Day After
Next morning enjoy a breakfast or brunch for your bridal party.
You may wish to continue the wedding celebrations and we are happy to arrange a picnic or casual BBQ price on request, Hire cost for The Coach House and Courtyard on request

We had our wedding here in June and it was the most incredible day. The venue itself is gorgeous with so many different areas, and elements to this venue - from the lawn to the court yard, court house, fields and the barn. We got married on the lawn with sea views and it was simply stunning. we loved the personal touch of the venue and being able to stay with our family for the whole weekend. The house is gorgeous and you are made to feel so at home with breakfast cooked (10/10 food btw) each morning. we cannot thank Andrew and Simon enough. They are a pleasure to work with and made our whole experience stress free. Everything we needed they were happy to do and nothing was any trouble. The day my husband and I met with Andrew & Simon to have a look around we just fell in love. Living local, I have never seen a more beautiful home with gardens and views of the coast that just created the perfect setting for us and what we had always hoped our day would be. To have had our wedding ceremony & drinks reception celebrated in a stunning cosy cottage feel home to then being able to move only a few steps into the newly built modern barn for our wedding breakfast and evening party which for me just brought the extra sparkle. Andrew and Simon you went above and beyond to make us feel so welcome and at home. The effort you made for us, our family and friends the whole weekend we can not thank you enough. You truely made our day one that we will never forget. I would also like to say a special thank you to Gemma who again looked after us so well but made my pre wedding nerves disappear with laughter and some bubbles and tied the most beautiful bow at the back of my dress. The gorgeous grounds include a beautiful meadow filled with wild flowers and also has a beautiful outside wedding option that has sea views. We opted for our ceremony to be in the stunning barn, which also over looks the sea. The venue offers a beautiful contrast between new and old, with the edition of the New Barn. Which is where we had our reception! Simon, Andrew and their team were absolutely fantastic and made our day perfect! This was not a surprise to us, as in the two years working with them prior to our wedding, they were absolutely amazing - no request was too much and they left no stone unturned. We also want to thank Andrew and Simon for being so welcoming, and allowed us to stay in their beautiful home. From the breakfast they provided for us, the amazing decor and the homely atmosphere, everything was perfect! One of the most important criteria when picking a wedding venue for us, was for it to be dog friendly.
