From that first meeting to after the wedding, the staff couldn't do enough for us. We felt like they listened to what we wanted but also made suggestions to make things even better. The day ran so smoothly, Alice worked quietly in the background, attending to all the details without me even noticing - even at carriages when managing some of the more inebriated guests!! - CChris & Pamela28/01/2026Our amazing wedding at GordonstounOur amazing wedding at GordonstounWe cannot speak highly enough about the job all the staff did for our wedding to ensure we had a very special day. In the build up we had several meetings and were shown around the various buildings where we outlined what we envisaged and they really delivered. On the day we had a phenomenal team led by Jamie who solved every single issue that arose and made us feel they had it covered so we didn't need to think about it. My bride had a really nice girls morning getting ready in the main Gordonstoun house and I prepared in the North room where portraits of Prince Philip and Princess Anne watched over me and you could really feel the history, which was exciting. We elected to get married on the lawn because we had a lot of guests but there is also a lovey little chapel which we originally wanted but only holds around 50-60 people. However the lawn with the main building in the background and the sun shining was a fabulous setting. The food was brilliant and the chefs accommodated all our wishes and more. The marquis was really spacious with a large dance floor and plenty of room for our 120 guests. I had many guests come up to me afterwards and say it was the best wedding they'd ever been to and we couldn't disagree. What is the capacity of the Michael Kirk at Gordonstoun.
Nestled in the peaceful woodlands of the grounds of Gordonstoun's is the Michael Kirk. Built in 1705, it is steeped in history, whilst offering a beautiful, peaceful location to tie the knot. The max capacity of the Michael Kirk is 65.
Can you hire a marquee?
Yes! Our Events Manager can help to arrange booking a marquee, which still be surrounded by the beautiful gardens and orchard.
Do you have to hire a marquee for the evening celebrations?
Not necessarily. Gordonstoun House is home to two of our wonderful event spaces, the North and South room. The South room being the bigger of the too, you can seat 100 guests for a meal. The South room can then be cleared, whilst your guests enjoy drinks in the North room. The South room can then be used for the evening celebrations!
For weddings of 100+, we would recommend hiring a marquee.
