Steeped in history, myth and legend, the castle is renowned for its lavish interiors, intricate ceilings and world-famous art collections, and is a fairy-tale setting for civil, religious and humanist wedding ceremonies. Adorned with masterpieces by Raeburn, Gainsborough and Batoni, the castle's exquisite Gallery and interconnecting Drawing Room provide a glorious setting for drinks receptions, ceremonies and dinners. From the castle, a short stroll through the magnificent grounds leads to the Racquets Court, a glass-roofed pavilion with a sprung dance floor, perfect for ceilidhs and evening receptions. For larger wedding receptions, a weighted marquee can be erected on the South Lawn, with the castle providing a spectacular backdrop for wedding photography. The 8 bedroom Preston Tower within the castle offers luxury self-catering for up to 16 guests.

An amazing stay in the most beautiful grounds & castle. We felt like true custodians of the whole castle while we were there. We were allowed a guided tour around the main castle & used the grounds whenever we wanted to. It was very warm & cosy. Everything we needed to eat in all holiday. Thanks to Stuart & all of the Fyvie staff for chatting to us & for making us feel so welcome.An amazing stay in the most beautiful grounds & castle. A dream was coming true: we could celebrate our golden Wedding at such a wonderful place. In these three days we we're walking on air (Up and down the stairs) and felt like lairds. We stayed as a group of 12 for a family birthday. The tower not only met our expectations in terms of quirkiness but also far exceeded them in terms of comfort. Everything is exceptionally well looked after with a mixture of modern comforts and antique paintings, perfectly keeping with the surroundings. For anyone looking to stay in a little bit of history, I can't recommend it more.We stayed as a group of 12 for a family birthday. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

My happiest memories of weddings at Fyvie Castle are the lovely people you meet. We spend a lot of time with couples planning their big day and really get to know them and their families. We had an intimate winter wedding at the start of this year which I just loved! The castle looked magical, and the wedding party were so happy and relaxed - everyone had a lovely day.

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Our wedding couples often find the opulent setting of Fyvie Castle requires little or no further decoration - allowing them to save budget for other things.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

A bride’s Grandad walking her down the aisle – he was just beaming with pride!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

Photographers are spoilt for choice with indoor and outdoor locations at Fyvie. The boathouse on the private lake being a popular spot, but my favourite is the beautifully intricate rot iron gates that form an arch as you approach the castle.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

We’re very honoured at Fyvie Castle to have hosted Royalty.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

The Music Gallery with its vaulted ceiling, working pipe organ and 17th-century Flemish tapestries. I love watching couples’ reactions when they walk into this room for the first time. It’s simply breath-taking.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Happy customers! We run a tight ship at Fyvie Castle and pride ourselves on ensuring everything runs seamlessly. I love weddings and seeing couples and their families enjoy their special day is so rewarding.
