Situated in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, Elsecar Heritage Centre is one of many Barnsley Museums and is a historic venue for weddings and private events. In the Victorian era, the local village used the old-fashioned centre for ironmaking and coal mining. Today, the facility boasts industrial-chic spaces for couples and communities from across the globe. Facilities and Capacity If you haven't had the joy of visiting the Elsecar Heritage Centre before, you and your loved one may enjoy a guided tour around the large facility. The centre offers a wheelchair-friendly hall for your wedding day with polished floors, red-bricked walls, and exposed ceiling beams.
The versatile Ironworks can accommodate up to 700 loved ones with your desired seating arrangement and a dance floor. If you prefer a smaller facility, we can transform the hall to match your ideal size. Regardless of the size, you may invite your favourite furry friend to attend or be a part of your wedding day. You and your loved ones may also feel stress-free with ample parking spaces on-site. Services Offered Elsecar Heritage Centre has an entertainment license and offers live band and DJ facilities for your Asian, unique, or unusual wedding.
Building 20 has the same look and vibes of the Ironworks but on a smaller scale, being able to host your celebration with up to 140 guests. This space can be changed around throughout the day to hold your full wedding from ceremony through wedding breakfast and onto evening reception or however you envisage your day!
We will assist your planning with our on-site wedding coordinator. This meticulous professional will be delighted to work with you and ensure your event is yours from start to finish. They will also encourage your choice of vendors, from private caterers to bar staff. You may also add plenty of colours and sparkles to your event with an array of confetti.

From the moment we began making plans with Elsecar, we knew that we had found something special. The style of the venue, the huge amount of space and your relaxed nature suited us perfectly. It really was a blank canvas, and we loved the project of turning it into our wedding. We also really appreciate your patience and understanding whilst dealing with all things ‘C’-related and alllll the rescheduling. I’m sure our email chain is in the hundreds… Not only did you provide so much support and advice in the months / years before the wedding, but you also helped us enormously as things began to take shape: from providing contacts for table cloths, to sourcing quotes, and the heaps of reassurance you gave us.
