For the day you’ll treasure, you need a classic and charming venue to ensure perfection from the moment you arrive, until your last guest leaves the dance floor. Durn House is a traditional 18th Century Scottish Georgian Mansion House. Steeped in sophistication, glamour, and history, Durn House has been restored to its former glory creating a unique and intimate Wedding Venue. We are not great believers in rigid packages we believe weddings are personal and unique to each couple and should be designed around you. Durn House is an ideal wedding venue, accommodating up to 48 day guests and additional evening guests as required. For couples with a larger guest list, we can provide the use of a stunning Marquee, or Teepee. Specialising in Rustic Weddings, Durn House is also famous for bohemian beach weddings. Our dedicated Wedding Planning Team will be with you every step of the way helping with supplier recommendations, menus, and style choices as and when required to ensure your day runs smoothly from dawn to after dusk.

A Magical WeddingA Magical Wedding
Durn House is truly the place to be for a wedding! Beautiful mansion house with the most amazing food to offer our guests. They dealt with everything for us (even the kilt hire)! If we could do it again, I would be back in a heartbeat! They also help to arrange honeymoons, along with many more extra addons. We will be back soon for a romantic night and food... We had our wedding at Durn House on 7th October and we had a wonderful day. The staff at Durn House really worked hard to make our day so special. Many, many thanks to Lyndsey but especially to Bev, Aenea, Graeme the chef, Mary the housekeeper and to everyone who made the entire weekend so fabulous. The house was spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming for ourselves and our guests. Every detail we had asked for was included; nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing and served by attentive but unobtrusive staff. The chef even went personally into Buckie to source a stand for our wedding cake and we were given a beautiful engraved cake knife to keep.. Durn House is the perfect venue for a wedding and we have memories we will never forget; We are already planning to return next year for our first anniversary! The current Events team have delivered a great experience in a relaxed and extremely customer focused way. Our day, our weekend was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. A Wonderful Wedding DayA Wonderful Wedding Day
We have just had the most amazing wedding day ever! From the minute we arrived we were warmly welcomed & waited on hand and foot, the staff were outstanding, they couldn't have done enough for us all (Bride, Groom & all our wedding guests). We had a dog & 9 children all under the age of 9, the staff were very accommodating and understanding of restless children, who hadn't been allowed to play and burn off some energy before the ceremony. The help given by the staff made all the difference to ensure that we got the attention to detail that we'd planned - from the little name tags on glasses, to blowing up the helium wedding balloons. Nothing was a problem. We felt that the staff at Durn House cared as much about our wedding as we did. The preparation for the day, the very high standard of the canapes and buffet-style 3-course meal were 2nd to none. I could go on and on describing as to how absolutely fantastic our big day was, this can only be accredited to the professionalism and dedication of all the staff at Durn house. With a special mention for Mary, the Head Housekeeper, who made sure everything went smoothly and we got the day we'd hoped for. The house itself has excellent facilities, in-keeping with the age and character of the house and grounds, the rooms, facilities, tableware and grounds were immaculate. All of our wedding guests that we spoke to, had an excellent day and gave the house and services nothing but praise. If we (the Bride & Groom), could have our day again, we wouldn't change a thing. We live near Portsoy and will definitely be spending a few nights here again. The staff at Durn House made our wedding day the most special and memorable day of our lives. Nothing was too much trouble, a tie for a guest, last minute ironing of bridesmaids dresses, even holding the ceremony outside 2 minutes before it was due to happen was all taken in their stride. The food was brilliant and the meal service was outstanding. We were so impressed by the service and the venue but particularly the staff, they shared in our joy their motivation to provide a top level of service was appreciated. The whole experience was stress free for us as the planning and service was provided right from the first contact to plan and book the event. All our requests and needs were met and exceeded. Honestly the3 best experience not only for ourselves but for all our quests. Nina, Mary, Karen, Christian all the bar staff and wait staff are incredibly professional but also made us feel like part of the family. They completely delivered on everything they said they would and more. I would love to stay again here even just for an evening meal and a romantic getaway. It is immaculately presented and simply a beautiful place to stay. Can't endorse them enough. Thank you from the bottom of my heart durn house for hosting my wedding on the 10th February 2018. From start to finish each and every one of you did an amazing job! We arrived on Friday with all my family and as soon as we stepped into your fantastic home we where treated like royalty. On the day I didn’t have to worry about absolutely anything. I left all my decorations down stairs and when I came down to marry my best friend the place looked incredible!! I was blown away with the beauty of the place. It truly is a gem! Too all the waiting staff, house keepers, chef, wedding coordinators, everyone who was involved ..every one of you are amazing! Please give yourselves a pat on the back. We all felt so at home and relaxed. The day ran so smoothly from start to finish. I honestly cannot fault you. Absolutely every one of my guests commented on how amazing the day was and that was thanks to you. Please, if anyone is thinking of getting married here, do it! You won’t regret it. We held our wedding here as 24 hour exclusive use. The day could not have gone better. Despite a change in staff during planning, they got us just right and ran the day just how we wanted. The room layouts were great and they dressed the house just how we wanted. All the food was great. The staff could not have been more helpful making sure we had everything we and our guests needed and more. They worked incredibly hard and long hours making our day run smoothly . There were also lots of unexpected extras throughout the day. Overall I couldn't recommend this beautiful venue enough.We held our wedding here as 24 hour exclusive use. We held our wedding at this beautiful venue 11.11.17 and our day was truly amazing. I arrived the night before with my bridesmaids and was looked after from the moment we walked through the door and i got to show them around the venue & their rooms. All the staff were really friendly and helpful the breakfast was lovely and so was our wedding meal and service. Mary from house keeping is a lovely lady and went out her way to help me through out the preparations of me getting ready and always checking i was ok or needed anything. Rebecca and nina done a fab job as well.
