Douneside House

Everything about our stay at Douneside House was perfect. The room was lovely, the grounds beautiful, the food outstanding and the staff friendly and helpful. It made our wedding anniversary really special; we'll definitely be back again.

We travelled to Douneside House for a small family wedding, and it proved to be a fantastic venue. The staff were attentive and efficient (particular Gordon who looked after our party for at least two days). The food was excellent. The views and walks around the garden were calming and picturesque.

We have just returned from our daughter’s wedding here. Everything ran smoothly from Sunday check in for 15 guests. Wedding on Monday. And departing Tuesday. Attentive staff at all times without being too present. Food was top quality the whole weekend. Genuinely a beautiful place to stay with a very calming atmosphere. We couldn’t have asked for more. We, a group of 7 friends, stayed at the hotel for 2 nights as we were attending a wedding local to the hotel. The stay was amazing - the rooms, the grounds, the food , the spa and especially the 1st class service from incredible staff! We were very fortunate to stumble across this gem of a hotel and will certainly we back!

I attended my nieces wedding this month in Douneside House Hotel. The situation was marvellous, the hotel lovely, room and bed extremely comfortable but I think the secret weapon of the hotel is its staff. Behind scenes, waiting staff and front of house were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much to ask and they ensured a great time had by all. So thank you to you a!!.

Can't praise this gem of a place high enough. House beautiful, staff fantastic and attentive, food delicious. Grounds are lovely for walking even in February. Warm cosy atmosphere throughout the house with a lovely history. Leisure facilities an added bonus.

Fantastic in every way. A hidden gem that is one of the best hotels you could ever wish for. This typifies a 5 star hotel with staff who genuinely love being part of the hotel. Dining is superb, breakfast better, peaceful, relaxing and very friendly.

A group of us stayed here last weekend for dinner, bed and breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s clear the staff care, both about the customers but also the place itself. Walking around the house and grounds, you can feel the history which makes it both interesting and personal. The whole place has a lovely atmosphere which is beautiful and elegant yet approachable and gentle.

From the moment we arrived at this beautiful place we knew were in for a special stay. The gardens and accommodation are stunning and the attention to detail is excellent. The staff are friendly, warm and polite without being in any way pretentious. The complimentary afternoon tea was a nice touch and a great way to ease into our stay. And then there was the tasting menu and paired wines. James and Callum were the perfect hosts and the food and wine were incredible. Keep up the great work!
