of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Nottingham area.
The country house mansion lies in over 60 acres of charming
woodland, rolling countryside and lake. Whether you are
planning an intimate wedding breakfast or an all-singing,

The venue for the wedding was stunning. We had no stress arranging everything thanks to the wedding coordinator. She has been wonderful to work with. The staff were fantastic, very attentive and professional. The food was delicious and everything ran perfectly, nothing was too much trouble. We were very happy with the venue and staff - Geetha was our coordinator and did a great job looking after us in the build up to the wedding. We stayed the night before with some of our guests and were at Colwick for the whole day - ceremony and reception. It's a beautifule venue and we hardly needed any of our own decorations and our guests - we had about 70 - absolutely loved it.We got married in September 2025 at Colwick Hall Hotel and had a fantastic time. We were very happy with the venue and staff - Geetha was our coordinator and did a great job looking after us in the build up to the wedding. We stayed the night before with some of our guests and were at Colwick for the whole day - ceremony and reception. It's a beautifule venue and we hardly needed any of our own decorations and our guests - we had about 70 - absolutely loved it.

Over the last year Geetha has been a brilliant, helpful contact, always responding to queries fast and working to ensure Colwick Hall can be accommodating as possible to meet our requests. As we also had guests stay at the hotel we liaised with Sam who was always happy to support primarily with room bookings but also with aspects of our wedding day. Our duty manager Pramod ensured that the day ran very smoothly and checked in with us to ensure everything was set up to how we wanted (which it always was!). The food service was lovely and all our guests commented to say the food was really good. The buffet provided in the evening was also a generous amount of good food. All the staff who worked on our wedding day were happy, smiling and helpful and this really helped make our day special. The food was lovely as well, the grounds are stunningly beautiful and we were given plenty of time both the day before to set up and the day after to pack everything up without having to worry! The service was impeccable, the food was unreal and my guests are still talking about it months later, the room was gorgeous and got so many compliments!! When turning the ceremony into the reception, they did a perfect job. The team did amazing with my instructions for decor & it was exactly how I imagined it. Every single guest said how beautiful the place is, how nice the food was & how lovely the staff was. Nothing was too much & they went the end of the earth to ensure my day was perfect. I would highly recommend this venue to anybody getting married! Each and every wedding at Colwick Hall is super special. Working with the couple to deliver the best day of their dreams. Building on ideas, sharing inspiration and creating a most magical day, every single wedding is so unique and so to us there are so many best weddings.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Whilst there are many planning tips, we feel it always starts with you and what is most important for your wedding. Let us know as the venue how you would like the day to flow and we can more often than not customise most elements and build a bespoke package. Wedding planning can be overwhelming but don't let it consume you, look at options, visit venues and suppliers and make decisions as you go. That helps to be organised, visit wedding fayres when you can and using a wedding app like Bridebook often helps to keep to a timeline and keep on track for to do's and most of all enjoy the planning process.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Bringing your pooch on the day of the wedding is so adorable, as are personalised messages to each other read by a celebrant. Ringbearers such as an owl are super wow-moments. Table centres, favours and even fireworks can be personalised for that extra special touch.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Yes, a few celebrity guests, The Dalai Lama, Torvill & Dean, Idris Elba, Tim Vine, Christopher Biggins, Paul Hollywood.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Has to be the mini fish and chips on mushy peas. Also a personal favourite is the roast beef on mini yorkshires are too cute. The canapes are always really popular, bite sized just to fill the moment and the chefs are super talented so they make everything taste really good.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Evening cobs or pizzettes for a late supper treat or champagne for a liquid treat.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Whilst being steeped in history, Colwick Hall feels like home but just large enough to welcome all your guests. Opulent yet not stuffy. The most unique feature is the ability to host a boutique wedding through to a large scale celebration in the Lakeside Pavilion all within the backdrop of a country house setting.
