Description

The name Coed-Y-Mwstwr refers to the whispering sound of the woods that surround this gorgeous place. But this venue is no shy wallflower: inside and out, you’ll find charming backdrops that offer the perfect foil for any wedding celebration. From period rooms to wild woods, fireside to formal gardens, it offers some magical settings for your big day. The Elliot Suite is a light and gracious space is impossible to forget, with its wonderful domed ceiling, Arts and Crafts style beams and cornicing and glistening, classical chandeliers. It’s an enchanting, intimate space for your ceremony and can seat 20 to 50 guests for a wedding breakfast. The Hendre Suite is perfect for larger weddings and is a glamorous, contemporary option. Wide, glazed doors make the most of the views across the luscious landscape, bringing the outside in. And with its own bar, patio and lounge, it’s extremely versatile, too. It offers a sumptuous space for 50 to 170 guests. The Folly is our latest space, for up to 100 guests: a dazzling 360° glasshouse with a retractable roof. If you’d love to get married outside but don’t want to gamble with our lively Welsh weather, then this offers the perfect solution. You needn’t choose between indoors or outdoors – you can have both.

A beautiful day at a beautiful venue

We had our wedding at the Coed-Y-Mwstwr in February and it was absolutely perfect! The team were incredibly accommodating and supported us in every way possible. We will never stop recommending this venue!

The day went without a glitch.

Absolutely amazing! The day went without a glitch. The food was out of this world. It was served fast and hot with no mistakes or anything left out and all our guests where happy and full. The staff where very helpful and when a guest got taken ill they boxed her dinner up ready to go so she didn't miss out! Drinks were served fast and efficiently with no one missing out! The venue is beautiful and clean I couldn't imagine our day anywhere else.

We couldn't imagine our day being anywhere else!

The perfect wedding venue! An idyllic setting nestled amongst serenely beautiful woodland. Alongside it being a stunning location, the staff ensured that every detail was flawlessly taken care of from the very first meeting to the last dance of the night. The events team were amazing and always answered every little question we had before the big day, whilst on the day itself Tegan took excellent care of us. This venue truly is special and we couldn't imagine our day being anywhere else.

Our wedding day was perfection!

We had our wedding at Coed-y-Mwstwr, and it was perfection! The team at Coed-y-Mwstwr were incredible and helped us create the wedding that we had envisioned. On the day itself, the team did everything to make sure the day went smoothly and it was enjoyed by all our guests. We had so many comments from our guests about how beautiful the venue was, that the food was fantastic and the accommodation was stunning; everyone had a great day and so did we.

The staff at Coed y Mwstwr are second to none!

Everyone was just incredible, such a kind and caring team with hearts of gold. The staff at Coed y Mwstwr are second to none! An absolute credit to the hotel. Every member of staff went out of their way to greet us and help in any way possible. Tegan was so warm and kind, this really helped calm any nerves and I actually felt like I had a best friend with me during moments of the morning where Tegan was so attentive and reassuring. Tegan, you are beautiful inside and out!

The perfect wedding venue!

An idyllic setting nestled amongst serenely beautiful woodland, this Victorian mansion house is the perfect backdrop if you wish to have a more secluded setting for your wedding day. You have access to all areas of the site including a glass Pergola, and each room has its own unique charm and character. Alongside it being a stunning location, the staff ensured that every detail was flawlessly taken care of from the very first meeting to the last dance of the night. The Events team were amazing and always answered every little question we had before the big day, whilst on the day itself Tegan took excellent care of us. Many of our guests commented how tasty the menu was and in particular enjoyed the homemade fudge served at the drinks reception. An added bonus is that the venue is dog friendly, which allowed us to be able to have our lovely Springador join us for some photos and socialising. This venue truly is special and we couldn't imagine our day being anywhere else.

The best day of our lives 🤍

My partner and I had our wedding day on the 15/09/24 in Coed-y-Mwstwr and it really is true when people say. It was the best day of our lives. This was made possible thanks to the incredible events team at Coed-y-Mwster Hotel. We first met the events team at one of their lovely showcase events. We loved how enthusiastic, approachable and friendly they were. We felt like they were just as excited for our wedding as we were. The venue then became high on our list. We also loved how warm and cosy it was with plenty of affordable accommodation both in the hotel and nearby for family and friends (we had a lot of family travelling far). However, the main reason for booking was their communication. We had experienced other wedding venues taking weeks to reply but not this one! Sometimes they replied to our emails within minutes and always with the same enthusiasm! It didn't take long to decide to book the venue. We were married in the lovely outdoor glass folly followed by a reception in the bar/outside and then wedding breakfast in the Hendre suite. We also had dinner for the bridal/grooms party the evening before in the fox suite and despite having another wedding on that night we were well looked after! Our guests raved about the food. My Mum who complains about food when we take her anywhere for dinner absolutely loved the food. She also loved how attentive they were to her dietary needs and ate everything which meant so much to me (you'll never know how much!). We were blown away by the teams communication. On the lead up to the wedding they answered my many email queries quickly and thoroughly and I never felt like I was bothering them. They helped to make the process that little bit less stressful. The venue coordinators on the day we're so helpful. I considered hiring my own personal coordinator after listening to a podcast rave about them but I'm so glad I didn't. There was no need - the coordinators looked after us so well and took notes of all our special requests. I can hand on heart say that there was nothing that went majorly wrong at all the whole day. There was a very minor minor issue that's not even worth mentioning and even at that the hotel were apologetic and provided free champagne. It was such a lovely touch and so unnecessary due to how minor it was! We appreciated it all the same. I don't think I could ever say thank you enough to the whole team at Coed-y-Mwstwr. They made us feel so special and like our wedding was the only one they were hosting all year! We will cherish our memories forever and are counting the days until our full photo album and video are ready so we can relive it again. Thank you, thank you, thank you! The new Mr & Mrs Davies 🥰🤍🤍🤍

Best day of our lives

Wow, what can we say apart from a big thank you to everyone at Coed-Y-Mwstwr for making our day so special. We got married on Saturday 24th August. We first looked at this venue in April 2022 and as soon as we stepped foot inside, we knew it was the perfect venue for us. The grounds are breathtaking and the Folly was the ideal place for our summer wedding! The whole process from the day we booked up until our wedding day, was spotless. The service we received from Megan, Rachel & Tegan was outstanding. The staff on the day couldn’t do enough for us. We've been happily married for 2 months now and we still talk about how perfect the wedding day was. A big big thank you, Mr & Mrs Archbold

Best day of our lives

We chose Coed y Mwstwr as our wedding venue because we thought it was such a hidden gem and provided such great value for money. We viewed many venues, and we thought Coed was the most reasonably priced for the location, great packages available and lovely surroundings. One of the reasons we preferred Coed was because they weren't super salesy and didn't try and upsell us at every chance, unlike other venues in South Wales. The venue itself was stunning. Both the interior and exterior were beautiful and we were so lucky with the sunny weather, our drinks reception and photos outside were just gorgeous. The children in attendance had a blast playing the garden games outside too. I also wanted to mention the bridal suite, as it was such a beautiful room and made for some really stunning photos of me and my bridesmaids getting ready on the morning of. The other hotel rooms are a bit dated but it's still a lovely place to stay. The food was amazing and everyone really enjoyed. We liked that we could give everyone a choice of meals, and it was really important to us that dietary requirements were catered to, and Coed made sure this was done. There was some slight confusion about gluten-free options on the day, but it was flagged before anyone ate anything they shouldn't. The wedding team at Coed were wonderful in the run up to the wedding and on the wedding day, and if we had any questions they were really responsive via email. On the morning of our wedding the team were really attentive, guided us through everything, made sure we were both running on time and everything was going smoothly. They also co-ordinated with all of our suppliers on the morning, so we didn't have to worry about a thing. We were both so relaxed on the morning of the wedding and were totally confident that everything was in hand thanks to the venue staff's expertise and efficiency. We couldn't have asked for better! Big thank you to Rachel, Tegan, Paul and the team for making it so special.

Describe the best wedding that happened at Coed-Y-Mwstwr Hotel?

Ooo, that's a tough one as they are all amazing but it has to be one of our summer weddings just after the release of restrictions. From the night prior to the morning of departure, it was just one big party! The majority of wedding guests were travelling from a far, so to see these guests reunite after such a long and emotional period was something that can only be described as magical! Not a mask in sight, arms wrapped firmly around each other (whilst the other hand was accompanied by a glass of bubbly) mixed with laughter and excitement was the perfect recipe for the start of a big wedding weekend. The theme was just white, pure, elegant WHITE. From white floral tree's to petals and hurricane vases during the ceremony to white starlight drapes and dancefloors - just WOW.
