Bestwood Lodge is steeped in history and set in the magnificent acres of rambling parkland known as Bestwood Country Park. In 1683 King Charles II granted Bestwood Lodge to his son, the Duke of St Albans whose mother was the infamous Nell Gwynn. The Lodge has its own Gothic Chapel with oak panelled walls and minstrel’s gallery, a unique venue for a civil ceremony. The Ballroom is early Victorian in character, with high ceilings and large elegantly draped windows with incredible views over the beautiful parkland.
Bestwood Lodge has been catering for Wedding Receptions for many years. You can be confident that your special day will be handled in a friendly and positive manner by your dedicated wedding team.
In order to create your perfect day we offer a number of versatile options, you can do as much or as little as you wish. We cater for all types of weddings, from sit down meals to buffets, lavish or informal. Your day can be tailored especially for you.
With our All Inclusive Packages, we can take all of the stress of organisation away from you, so all you have to do is relax and enjoy your event.
The All Inclusive Packages encompass everything you need for your special day from a sparkling drinks reception on arrival to a complimentary suite for the wedding couple.

Our room was very clean and ready to shower and sleep etc, when we woke the next morning after a wonderful sleep, we ventured down for our breakfast, of which everything was hot and laid out brilliantly. Very happy with availability of food and amount. And again, didn't go without anything or have to ask for anything to be filled etc. and check out was also made easy and the staff very kind and friendly. The rooms were beautiful, the decorations were spectacular and the DJ rocked. Even when the wind brought a tree down you had everything in hand, the day ran so smoothly and for us it was completely stress free. Thank you for making our day one that we will remember not only for our wedding but surprising our daughter with a cake for her 13th. We will definitely recommend your hotel to anyone that would like to hold and event for any reason. We’ve attached some photos that our guests took and when we have access to the other photos we’ll send you some more. All of our rooms were lovely and I had a complimentary upgrade which was a nice touch, the breakfast too was delicious. All the way through the planning of our wedding we were treated incredibly well and all members of staff were friendly and approachable. I would like to take the time to specifically mention Jodie who helped me organise the day all the way through, nothing was too much trouble. Stephen, Simon and Tanya – you are all lovely people and made sure the day went so smoothly – thank you. The bar staff at night time too!! Our day was perfect and you all played a part in that. I would highly recommend having your wedding at Bestwood Lodge as the ‘All Inclusive’ aspect took so much stress out of the planning. The day was incredible and the photographs we have of the spectacular views and the hotel itself are just perfect. Will definitely be coming here as much as we can, the food is lovely. Don’t expect a super modern hotel, with its Victorian feel and beautiful grounds this hotel is so much more and the most perfectly romantic place to get married. Just wish we could do it all again. What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
A couple, with children from previous relationships, used all their children as the key people in the day. For example, the eldest son walked the bride down the aisle, the eldest daughter was Maid of Honour, the other son was Best Man, the other two daughters were bridesmaids - it was such a family filled day.
