Experience the Magic of Berwick Lodge

Berwick Lodge offers glistening fountains in summer, warming open fires in winter, and beautiful rooms that showcase the stunning features of its original 1890s Victorian architecture all year round.

If you’re dreaming of an unforgettable wedding in a charming, characterful setting with attentive staff — look no further. Berwick Lodge is the perfect venue for both intimate elopements and larger celebrations. Enjoy non-exclusive use for smaller gatherings, or opt for exclusive hire for up to 100 guests for a seated wedding breakfast and 150 guests for evening celebrations.

Licensed for civil ceremonies, Berwick Lodge can host up to 100 guests indoors or outdoors in fine weather. For those seeking even more space, our picturesque grounds can accommodate a marquee, increasing capacity to 200 guests.

Our enchanting gardens are a photographer’s dream — adorned with wisteria and clematis, shimmering fountains, an original Victorian summerhouse, an orchard, a tree swing, and sweeping views across to Wales.

Inside, the Victorian elegance continues. Think grand wood panelling, open fires, a sweeping staircase, and sparkling chandeliers — and that’s just the entrance hall! Our 14 individually designed boutique rooms, each with en-suite and unique character, provide luxurious on-site accommodation for you and your guests.

At Berwick Lodge, food is at the heart of everything we do. Our passionate in-house culinary team crafts delicious menus featuring seasonal, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. (We also welcome self-contained evening food trucks for something a little different!)

When you choose Berwick Lodge, you’re not just booking a venue — you’re embracing a fully supported, personalised experience. Our dedicated team will be by your side every step of the way, ensuring your plans come to life, your personality shines through, and your special day is completely stress-free.

A big hello from me, Jess. I'm the wedding coordinator here at Berwick Lodge. I LOVE everything about weddings, in particular getting to know you and being here to help from your initial viewing up until the day itself. I then hand over to Rhianna, who will effortlessly calm your nerves and ensure the day runs smoothly, with the help of our restaurant manager and waiting team. I so look forward to meeting you to view our beautiful venue.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

What a question and almost impossible to answer! The best weddings are always the ones where you can feel the love in the room – some weddings are just full of so much love and emotion it's hard not to get caught up – especially during the ceremony! This year one that stands out is Wendy and Andy. Wendy had such a skill for making everyone feel special, comfortable and welcome on her day. You could tell she loved every minute. Wendy even organised lucky Andy a surprise helicopter arrival!

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Don't be daunted! There's so much help and advice available out there (mostly useful) from personal recommendations, wedding websites and forums and - probably the most valuable - your venue's wedding coordinator who knows local suppliers well and can offer suggestions to keep things running smoothly. Also, don't fret about timescales, it is possible to organise a wedding in 6 months or less too!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Kate and Ben had a very personalised wedding at Berwick. They not only had their own Kate and Ben logo that was on everything, there were many touching family and friend links. Kate wore a comb in her hair that was made from pieces of family jewellery that had been broken through the years, an anklet made by her best friends, her late Grandfather's watch held the bouquet today and parents/grandparents wedding photos took pride of place on the cake table. Their beloved pet whippet came to the ceremony (and had her silhouette printed on a souvenir tea towel) and Kate made creative origami style table centres out of old university text books that both she and Ben used to use.

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Elegant, Friendly, Unique, Relaxed, Personal

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

'Aphrodite’s Dome' – a striking structure with an intricately designed dome roof. Picture an intricate pergola entwined with wisteria and clematis. It's such a distinctive and romantic structure and has the backdrop of the orchard. Legal ceremonies can take place outdoors so we suggest using Aphrodite's Dome as the location in good weather. Other popular photo spots are the tree swing, Victoria summerhouse, sparkling fountains and from the top of the spiral staircase looking out across Monmouthshire.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

We've had celebrities stay as guests in the hotel and perform at Weddings but yet to have a celebrity wedding - watch this space!

What’s your favourite canapé?

Either the Smoked Salmon Bagel with Dill Cream Cheese or Truffle Honey & Goats Cheese on Parmesan Shortbread - it's too hard to choose just one!

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

What could be better than a midnight cheese board!?

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Aphrodite's Dome - Our marble pergola

What part of your business are you most proud of?

I'm proud of the way all the staff pull together to make the atmosphere fun yet relaxed. This is reflected in the many thank yous we receive from wedding couples who return as regular guests, and sometimes become new personal friends.
