Hi, I’m Jenny Beckett—though most call me JB. I believe your wedding photos should reflect the joy, love, and personality that make your relationship one of a kind. Based in Auchterarder, Scotland, I specialise in creating a relaxed and fun photography experience that feels personal to you. My mission is to capture those fleeting moments—the laughter, the happy tears, the inside jokes—that make your wedding day truly unforgettable.
My style is all about telling your story in a way that feels natural and beautiful. I use soft, natural light and guide you into relaxed, authentic poses that highlight your connection. I work unobtrusively, so you can enjoy every moment with your loved ones while I capture the magic as it happens. Couples often tell me they appreciate my professional yet friendly approach, which helps them feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.
Choosing me as your wedding photographer means more than just getting beautiful images—you’re gaining a trusted partner dedicated to preserving your memories with care and expertise. I’m an award-winning photographer featured in publications like Tie the Knot Scotland, committed to making your experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.
Couples often describe me as a calming, positive presence on their wedding day. One bride even shared how I came prepared with a crochet hook to help with her dress! It’s these thoughtful touches, combined with stunning final images, that lead to heartfelt compliments and glowing recommendations. Many couples and their families tell me how comfortable and at ease they felt throughout the day, which makes all the difference in capturing genuine moments.
Probably my first one back in 2016 when Photography was still my side hustle. I felt totally honoured that I'd been asked to capture the memories from the day of a good friend and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I knew then that I wanted this to be my full-time job.
Fun, Contemporary, Romantic, Unintrusive, Beautiful
The feedback I get from couples and their guests saying that my friendly and fun approach puts them at ease.
Set a budget and then decide what things are most important to you and skip/make savings on the things that aren't top of your priorities.
The table names were just numbers but when you got to the tables they had photos of the couple at that age e.g. one, two, etc. So cute!
Couples often book months if not years in advance so I like to keep in regular contact so they don't think I've run off with their booking fee!
About a month before the wedding I reach out to arrange a face to face consultation with the couple so we can go through the order of the day and agree a shot list of 'must haves'. I will also visit the venue beforehand.
On the day I try to be as unobtrusive as possible except during the group shots where I have to get a little bit bossy! I also carry an emergency bridal kit with me that holds all sorts from stain remover to safety pins to blister plasters!
A natural relaxed portrait of the pair of them enjoying a quiet moment after they have said I do.
Every wedding has an original element that's what makes them personal and special to each couple.
Being a Scottish Photographer I always expect rain at some point so I always bring bridal umbrellas with me to get some couple/wedding party shots outside. Having visited the venue/s beforehand as well I always have a plan B for rainy day photos
I got my first film camera aged eight and was hooked from then on. I spent 20 years as a banker enjoying photography on the side until I decided life was too short and I wanted to spend every day doing something I love.
