Description

MontPlaisir Home of the Merles des Rochettes family, it was built at the end of the 17th century by Joseph Merles (1642-1709), Doctor of Law, Bailly of Grignan and General Judge in Valréas. Built in cut stone from the Gard quarries, placed directly on a saffre basement, the house has an architecture inspired by the opulent houses of Avignon and the charm of Provençal residences. Leaning against the top of a wooded hill, it overlooks the Valréas plain. Facing west, it offers a beautiful 180° view of the Ardèche and the foothills of the Massif Central. The cellar and a large tasting room, extended by a terrace overlooking the vines are located near the château. This complex offers an excellent environment for organizing themed events on wine.
