My wife and I wanted a special weekend, and this was the perfect solution. From the welcome on arrival to our goodbyes on Sunday, Donna and Paul were excellent hosts. Our room was the Victoria Suite—the first to stay there. WOW!!
We chose the summer weekend package—dinner, breakfast, and sparkling afternoon tea. All the meals and service were fabulous. You can get a full English breakfast if you miss it. Dinner on Saturday was a real treat, as Donna and Paul prepared dishes based on their time in Thailand.
The grounds aren't huge, but they're well worth exploring, and there's a small pond with very friendly geese and ducks. If you're looking for a lazy day, there's a sheltered grassy courtyard with sun loungers and deckchairs. The terrace is also a great place to relax on a sunny day. Perhaps with a Château craft beer, like me. After dinner on Saturday, we had the chance to spend an evening in the drawing room with other guests. It was an opportunity to learn more about the castle and the exciting plans Donna and Paul have for the future.
As we were leaving, one of the guests let us take a peek at the Royal Suite. It was superb, and we will definitely be back to try it out.My wife and I wanted a special weekend, and this was the perfect solution.
