The shutters are flung wide open, the flour is strewn on the floor, the tables groan under the food, the lanterns twinkle friendly. Cousins, nephews, uncles, aunts, grandfather and great-grandmother are decked out in their most beautiful plumage. The horses, chickens and geese are already approaching curiously. Everything is ready for your wedding feast.
The Klipskuur is situated on the Leonards’ family farm, Rietfontein, 100 km south of Johannesburg. The old barn, built in 1914, has been lovingly restored and transformed into a farmhouse-style chic wedding venue.
Eternal bonds can be forged in the Boskapel (wattle bush), in the Stalkapel or in the garden with a cricket choir as accompaniment. Couples who prefer a more traditional ceremony can exchange their wedding vows in one of the lovely churches in Heidelberg.
While the bride and groom smile for photos, guests can feast on freshly baked breads and a variety of cheeses while enjoying the last of the daylight. 90 to 150 people can sit down for a feast of nostalgic food prepared by our chef.
