Meet Jemma, Our Founder and Lead Editor
Jemma, the founder of Weddit Films, brings 16 years of professional experience and a BA (Hons) in Film and Video to every wedding film she creates. Inspired by her own wedding, she developed this “Do it Together” service to help couples capture their day beautifully without breaking the bank. With a background that includes work on well-known television shows, Jemma ensures your wedding film is crafted with expert care and creativity.

What is your most memorable wedding?
My wedding - it was the whole reason why I started the business in the first place and helped me to understand and know that this concept works, especially for those who may feel camera shy and don't want a cameraman being intrusive on intimate moments throughout the day.

What about your business are you most proud of?
Even though it's a budget friendly way of having a wedding video, the quality of what I produce is not sacrificed. My clients regularly tell me how they feel like they are back at their wedding and how their video makes them emotional all over again.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make a priority list and think about clever ways where your budget can be stretched.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I love to speak with couples to find out about their wedding plans. A phone call or zoom chat is important so I can get a sense of your wedding. I then send the couple a form to fill out to get extra details of their wedding and so they can put the contacts of specific guests they want to capture footage. I will then get in touch with those guests to give them advice on how to get the best shots and what shots they need to try and capture on the day. On the day I will send some reminders to the guests on Whatsapp and then the guests can start sending through footage to me. After the wedding and once all footage has been received I will edit the video together and send over to the couple (usually within 2 weeks if everyone gets their footage over to me quickly).

There are so many to choose from, I think it all just depends on the style of the couple!
Describe how you got into videography.
Ever since I went to uni to study Film and Video I’ve had a passion for video editing. Being shown the skills and tools to turn moving picture into a story gave me the biggest buzz ever and it still does to this day.
At the time I wanted to work in the film and TV industry and worked on lots of shows including Emmerdale, Heartbeat, The Royal, This Morning, Top of the Pops and even Jeremy Kyle 🙈 but I fell out of love with all of the sofa hopping and being in and out of work. Seeing all of my friends around me have secure jobs and their own homes I started to crave more security.
Fast forward a couple of dodgy jobs, I started to work in media and PR. To my surprise, I found that my degree and editing skills became very useful in this industry and was making short films and adverts for many of the big clients I was working with.
However, the stress and pressures of the job left me feeling burnt out from working all hours in the day and then doing late night events as well. That, along with a very scary boss, left me having a panic attack outside of The Ritz on my way to work. I knew it was time to make a change so I trained to be a primary school teacher, which I still am to this day.
During my career change, my fiancée (now husband) and I were planning our wedding. We had a healthy budget for our dream wedding but having a videographer as well felt like we were trying to stretch it too far. Also, the thought of the pressure of being IN FRONT of the camera left me feeling uncomfortable. So I selected a handful of friends and asked them to capture specific moments of the day and when I got back from my honeymoon I edited it all together into our wedding video.
So this is why I set up Weddit Films - to help you have a wedding video without putting pressure on your budget and allowing me tell your authentic wedding day love story.
