Based in Stranraer, Dumfries & Galloway, Calvin Ferries Wedding Films creates natural, story-driven wedding films for couples across Scotland.
My approach is calm, unobtrusive, and focused on capturing genuine moments as they naturally unfold rather than turning your wedding day into a staged production. I believe the best wedding films come from real emotion, honest interactions, and the atmosphere of the day itself.
From the excitement of the morning preparations to the energy of the dance floor, I document weddings in a relaxed documentary style that allows you to stay fully present with your family and friends while I quietly capture the moments that matter most.
Every wedding film is carefully edited to feel personal, timeless, and authentic to you as a couple. Using professional audio, cinematic visuals, and natural storytelling, the aim is not simply to show how your wedding looked, but how it felt to be there.
Packages include full-day coverage, highlight films, feature films, ceremony and speeches edits, teaser films delivered within one week, and optional documentary edits for couples who want to relive the day in full.
Although based in South West Scotland, I film weddings throughout Scotland and beyond.

We are awkward in front of a camera, help!
That is completely normal, and it’s exactly why I work the way I do. I don’t do traditional, rigid posing. Instead, during our short portrait session, I’ll give you simple, natural prompts to get you moving and interacting with each other. By focusing on each other rather than the camera, the awkwardness disappears, and we get genuine, relaxed footage that actually feels like you.
What if it rains?
Nothing will get in the way of making your day special! I will use umbrellas or look for the perfect undercover area. As long as you're happy to roll with the punches then I am too! I have no problem getting out in the rain with the camera.
Can we pick the song for our video?
No, I use purchased licensed music for wedding videos which means I can legally put them online. I choose music that creates the overall vibe and mood of your day that reflects your wedding.
How long does it take to get our films?
Turnaround is average 12 weeks from the wedding day though I'll always strive to have it out sooner!
Do we need to feed you?
Yes please, I would really appreciate it! I will be on my feet all day and very much appreciate it. All I ask is eating at the same time as everyone else so that I don't miss a moment shooting!
How do we receive our films?
Online via a link to a personal gallery to make sharing with loved ones easier! A USB is also provided for the Platinum Collection.
What happens if we lose our films?
Don't worry! I keep two copies of everything backed up and safe so if any accident does happen just get in contact and I can get your precious moments back over to you in no time.
Can you hold a date for us?
Unfortunately no. All dates are first come, first served on completion of a contract and payment of the booking fee.
Can you do Groom Prep too?
I’ll always strive to do groom prep alongside bridal prep but it’s dependant on the distance between.
