Wynyard Hall is a truly unique wedding venue. Situated in the North East of England, the Hall boasts a beautiful 12th century Chapel, magnificent State Rooms and luxury accommodation.
Wynyard Hall has provided the perfect venue for weddings since the 12th century.
With a breath-taking 12th Century Chapel on-site for religious ceremonies and magnificent staterooms for non-religious ceremonies, we offer a range of packages, drawing on our extensive experience. Our packages aim to include all of the elements you will require to ensure your special day runs perfectly. Alternatively, we can develop a bespoke proposal to suit your personal requirements.
Furthermore, our former country house is surrounded by breath-taking views of private parkland providing a picture-perfect backdrop for photos and boasts excellent food and service.

We looked round lots of places in the North East, and this was the only place for us. The exclusivity was a big selling point, and this certainly made the day even more special. We can't speak highly enough about the coordination, and all the staff on the day. Guests were blown away with the venue and the quality of service and food. We viewed many wedding venues in the north east but none of them ticked the boxes for us as much as Wynyard did. The private venues with spectacular grounds with accommodation available the night previous lead to us having a fantastic day. The whole wedding team are very friendly, experienced and committed to helping us plan our perfect day. Originally we worked with Suzanne before she left and Emily took over who was equally as brilliant. We had some unfortunate family illnesses / issues meaning some late changes to our synopsis, Emily was really flexible and really tried to be as accommodating as possible taking any additional worries / pressures off us and we really couldn’t thank Emily enough for this. The day was planned out meticulously and everything ran perfectly. Tom was our master of ceremonies and really made sure the day flowed well. He was on hand through the day making sure we were well looked after. The day before the wedding we stayed in 2 of the onsite cottages (gardeners and woodlands). Both cottages were well equipped and immaculately clean. Staying on the grounds took any stress of needing to get to the hall away early on the day itself and allowed us to be on hand for any last minute questions from our suppliers. A lovely hamper in the morning suited the bridal party and the grooms party went to the hall for breakfast- both options were top notch. Like most weddings the day seems to flyby so staying on the grounds the night before stretched out the wedding and allowed us to get ready for the day in a more relaxed and settled atmosphere. We had a large family meal in the glass house restaurant the night before. We are so glad we chose Wynyard for our special day and would completely recommend the venue. The price was very competitive compared to other venues in the area. The large picturesque grounds, grand architecture and exclusivity are totally worth it. Having nut allergies, the menu was made 100% nut free and any other dietary requirements were suitably catered for. We have received nothing but positive feedback from our guests about how amazing the wedding at Waynard was. Many thanks to all of the Wynyard team!We were married in the hall on the 3rd May 25. It seemed to have the right price, exclusivity, package and customer service but could it be too good to be true. On our first viewing we absolutely fell in love with the place, the building and its rooms, the chapel (that is within the venue amazingly!), the grounds and the surrounding estate with the glasshouse restaurant, access to lodges and cottages and the walled garden! We asked for a date then and there and two weeks later we secured the venue (this was a year in advance). The communication in the lead up was excellent and were always willing to answer my questions and suggest options I might not have thought of. Emily our coordinator was incredible and thought of every detail we might need to plan. Ok the day itself we also had Leo as an MC who everyone raved about afterwords. He made sure Ben and I were looked after and even got to do things like a first look of the wedding breakfast set up that we hadn’t even planned and ended up getting some lovely photos from. He even drove us down to the walled garden in golden hour to make sure our photographer and videographer could get some extra shots of us! Talk about above and beyond. The whole day was SO smooth, which our guests remarked on as well. The food was delicious, the bar staff and waiters so attentive and the venue itself naturally took people’s breath away. We only ended up having about 80 people (invited 110) but the place did not feel empty as the staff made people were ushered through, together with the bar being next to the dancefloor it worked so well. From the very first meeting, Suzanne Brompton and her team were friendly, interested and fully in tune with our vision for the day. Nothing was too much to ask and within the wedding synopsis provided, the whole day was laid out and planned to the nth degree. The wedding team always responded to emails in a timely fashion. Any queries we had with roomings etc were efficiently taken care of by the reception team. The day before the wedding the bridesmaids and I stayed in Gardner's Cottage. I was surprised at the size of the accommodation and impressed by the added touches such as a welcome basket of bread, milk, jam etc. The cottage was clean and well kept. On the wedding day itself, we received nothing but top-class service. The events team took care of every last detail to ensure the day of our dreams, showing the utmost professionalism and attentiveness to all of our guests. In our opinion, the wedding package is amazing value for money, particularly given the overall grandeur of the venue. The food served throughout the day was delicious and carefully presented, with allergens and special requests catered for without any quibbles. The only negatives we have are very minimal and did not hinder our stay: - The locks on the doors are old and very temperamental. This includes the lock on the back door of Gardner's Cottage and the lock on the bridal suite door. A couple of other guests also reported issues such as their doors not unlocking/locking. The maintenance team did mention that they were looking to update all of the locks soon and worked to resolve the issues for us. - There were urine stains in the toilet in the bridal suite, however, we had requested early check in and there had been a function the evening before, so the cleaning had clearly been done in less time than the staff were accustomed to. Each and every member were true perfectionists and quite honestly the most friendly and helpful people! They made sure her day was perfect in every way,could only rate you a five but deserve a 500.You should all be very proud of yourselves for providing a wonderful service to your guests.Only got chance to say thank you to a few of you but from the bottom of my heart Can I just say....my daughter got married here on the 26th August and I can quite honestly say the staff here are something else! The team at Wynyard worked so hard to prepare the outdoor setup as well as a back up indoor option. As if by magic, the rain held off for the hour and we hard our outdoor ceremony. The rest of the day ran so smoothly and both the daytime and nighttime master of ceremonies were fantastic, making sure we knew exactly where to be and ensuring everything went to plan. We both had no idea how to plan a wedding but the coordinators at Wynyard helped us through every step. It was like having your own wedding planner! Not only is the venue absolutely stunning but the staff are exceptional. Libby was our fairy godmother for the day, she made sure everything went flawlessly. It was ridiculously hot on our wedding day and she must have been exhausted after that day sorting every little thing for us! The food was out of this world! The staff who were working on the day were attentive and nothing was too much to ask. The food was amazing and many thanks for providing my husband with a completely different meal!
