Wookey Hole Caves

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to Wookey Hole. It really was the perfect day. The tables and room looked even better than I envisaged and lots of people commented on it. The caves also looked so beautiful. Lucy was so calm and everything ran so smoothly. I had no idea how much everything over ran until people told me the next day. That must have been stressful for the team but they did not show it! We really did have the perfect day and we are so grateful to Lucy & the team. Thank you also for the lovely frame. We already have a picture in it!

If you are looking for something that is not only a spectacular wedding venue but also a fabulously fun place for your guests to spend the whole week-end, this is the place. We hired several of the lodges which meant that both families could really get to know each other. The hot tubs were a real hit, and the children loved the caves and play areas. We had such a good time getting together before and after the Wedding. The Wedding Ceremony itself was magical and the party after was such good fun with great food and dancing. We were going to have a traditional Wedding but the Bridegroom came up with this idea and I am so pleased he did. The staff were so helpful and professional, nothing was too much trouble. The caves were candle lit and we walked through them with music playing while we waited for the bride, the photos are breathtaking. I would highly recommend Wookey Hole for Weddings.

We had our wedding at Wookey Hole Caves. It was the most amazing magical day we could have wished for. We had 100 guests for the ceremony and wedding breakfast which we had a hog roast. Beautiful food. Then for the reception when the soft play and penny arcades were opened we had an additional 63 guests. Was amazing have family and friends to share it with. Yes we had a few hiccups but the staff were quick and professional In ironing them out and solving them. Lucy is amazing and will help in anyway she can and the staff that she had on for our wedding were all great and enjoyed themselves knowing we were enjoying ourselves also. I would totally recommend Wookey for any wedding or celebration the staff are all friendly and will go above and beyond to help in anyway they can. The lights and tea lights in the cave made it feel magical and romantic and it is something completely different. My guests are still talking about it now to their friends and family. The reception room set up was lovely and so much is included in the package. You can always add things on that they hire out or bring your own. They are so accommodating and reassuring I couldn’t have asked for a better venue for our wedding. We also had the soft play and penny arcades. I didn’t get pictures of them but awaiting my professional ones. I wish I could re live the day and do it all again. It was a long time comings made longer with covid but eventually we managed it and we loved every minute of it. Hope you choose Wookey Hole Caves for your venue. I can highly recommend this place if your looking for a unique wedding. You have everything under one roof, accommodation, reception venue, bar etc. But where do I start. There's so many advantages of having your wedding here. Lucy is amazing at organising everything and did a wonderful job of ours. The staff were brilliant and so helpful. The caves itself was a wonderful experience and you can choose which chamber is best for you. We chose chamber 3. We had some lovely finishing touches from Wookey like a bottle of bubbly in the room, a lovely gift and card. And speaking of the rooms, it was made out beautifully with red petals. Hopefully you'll be able to get some ideas from my pictures. The whole experience was done to perfection from start to finish.

From start to finish Lucy, wedding coordinator, was brilliant. All communication was clear, efficient and personal. Lucy was extremely professional yet made you feel like you were the only wedding she was helping to organise. The cave was just stunning and decorated exactly as asked. The guides to take you through were lovely. Our canapés, pre dinner drinks and entertainment were wonderful and went down very well with the guests. We had the hog roast and it was delicious. Our bar staff were just so friendly and lovely to chat with. The whole wedding experience itself was perfect. We wouldn't change a thing. The only "negative" is the actual hotel itself. It just lacks any atmosphere. So as long as you realise all you will do is sleep and get ready there you'll be fine. If anybody asked me would I recommend wookey as a wedding venue I would 100% say yes. Every single member of staff make your day(and stay) so so special

Our Wookey hole cave ceremony was breathtakingly stunning and provided the perfect magical setting for our alternative wedding, complete with a cave lake, tea lights, sparkler arch and our gorgeous bear, Archie. The penny arcade drinks reception was so much fun and all of our guests commented on it being the most enjoyable, happy and relaxed wedding they have ever been to. The staff were all so warm and friendly throughout and went out of their way to make sure every detail was catered to with professionalism that remained relaxed and at ease rather than pretentious and stuffy. A crucial part of what makes a Wookey hole wedding such a stress-free and happy experience is having their wedding coordinator, Lucy, on board. I cannot praise the service Lucy offers highly enough, as she literally performs the role of a wedding planner without the additional fee. Every detail is taken care of by her and her fabulous team, which leaves you able to totally immerse yourself in the moment on your special day.

We got married at Wookey Hole Caves on the 19th of July 21 and it was everything we could've imagined and hoped for. As with many weddings, ours was delayed due to Covid and Wookey was so supportive and understanding in moving it and keeping us updated with how the regulations would affect the day. Luckily we got married on 'freedom day' when everything opened up fully and we could have everything we wanted. Lucy, the wedding coordinator, was very friendly and helpful and always responded quickly to our messages in the run up to the day. Nothing was too much trouble and she went above and beyond to make us feel everything was under control. She helped us out with our cake delivery and arranged for our flowers to be delivered by a partnered supplier. She even assisted with liaising with the Wookey hotel about our bookings so that we didn't have to make two phone calls instead of one. On the day, she ensured everything was seamless and even carried little bits that may have been needed (a dress cleaning pen, a bottle of water etc). In fact every single member of staff we encountered was lovely and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. It was both the big and small interactions that made us feel special and supported, too many to mention so sorry if we missed you individually but thank you as you all made it amazing. From the lovely man in the Wookey Hotel saying "You are here!" in an excited voice when we arrived the night before the wedding, the cave guide who let us throw a stone into the lake to hear some of nature's music, the friendly team member who let us back into an area for some photography, the enthusiastic man giving pennies out at the penny arcade, to the friendly catering team and bar staff. We decided to stay the night before the wedding at the hotel as we came from the other side of the country, I'd recommend doing that anyway unless you live very close to give you time to decorate the reception room in the morning and have a relaxing time getting ready. We stayed in the Luxury family room (I think it was called) which had a balcony. If you or your guests are just staying the night of the wedding, you can get complimentary early check-in which is needed as check-in is usually quite late at 5pm. When setting up the reception room on the morning of the wedding we found a little gift from Wookey Hole, which was such a thoughtful touch and much appreciated when we opened it. We got married in Cavern 2 and it looked absolutely breath-taking for the ceremony. You can choose your light colours and they put out tealights around the edges. There are pools of water that reflect the lights. You can also send them your music beforehand and there is speakers inside the cave, we went for fantasy type music which went very well with the visuals of the cave. There were candelabras on the table at the top. It was such a magical atmosphere. We then had photos in some other caverns. We even had a cheesy photo in the cheese room! There is a lot of space for group and couple photos in between the cave and reception venue with some stunning and some fun scenery. We had some photos in front of the giant gorilla and the dinosaurs too! We then moved onto welcome drinks in the Penny Arcade which our guests absolutely loved, especially popular with the children and big kids alike. They gave us pennies to use and there is also a mirror maze in there. Our reception was in the WaterWheel Suite which to us was perfect for our smaller guest list, with enough room for tables and a space for a disco. There was also a little outdoor bit by the waterwheel and a staffed bar in the next room. You can choose to add chair sashes and they even put chair sashes on the high chairs which was a cute touch. We chose the Hog Roast which they adapted for our smaller guest list and it was well organised and very tasty. Certainly enough food for everyone and the cheesecake was really great. There was also a kids menu which was nice. We had the reception room until midnight, the bar staff were friendly throughout and then we moved to the Wookey Hotel bar which has a 24/7 license and I think we stayed up until around 2 but my memory gets a little hazy around that time! When we got to our hotel room at the end of the night the staff had put complimentary champagne on the table and a lovely swan towel design with petals on the bed. Overall it was a thoroughly memorable day for both us and our family and friends. Honestly we are so glad we had the wedding at Wookey and couldn't imagine a better place to get married. We've already decided we'll visit the caves again in a few years on our anniversary to remind ourselves of the magical day we had.

Lucy and her team made sure every aspect of our day was perfect. We were looked after the whole day and made to feel so special. The whole set up in the cave was beautiful and even better than I could have imagined. There was also a number of smaller touches that made the day even more perfect. I can't fault Lucy, she made everything faultless. If your looking for a slightly different but amazing venue then I recommend Wookey Hole!
