Woodland Manor Hotel in Bedford is an elegant and timeless setting for your wedding day, where historic charm meets modern sophistication. Set within four acres of beautifully maintained gardens, this stunning Victorian manor provides a picturesque backdrop for both intimate celebrations and larger gatherings, complete with 34 stylish ensuite bedrooms for you and your guests. At the heart of the manor are three distinctive spaces: the grand Victorian dining room, The Autograph, alongside the Library and the light-filled Conservatory—each offering its own unique atmosphere for your day.
Licensed for civil ceremonies of up to 112 guests, Woodland Manor can host a wedding breakfast for the same number and welcome up to 150 guests for your evening celebration. The Autograph creates a striking setting with its sparkling chandeliers, antique gold mirrors and high ceilings, while its soft, neutral tones provide the perfect canvas to bring your own style to life. The adjoining Library offers a more intimate space for your Photobooth, guest book and much more.
We believe every wedding should be as unique as the couple at its centre. From bespoke food and drink options—think espresso martinis, Aperol spritz and elegant sharing boards—to more traditional, timeless packages, every detail can be tailored to suit your vision. The team has been so helpful the whole time, especially on the day - any issues out of their control were handled perfectly and I was very relaxed knowing it was all under control! The food was delicious, we had lots of comments from the guests on how great it was. We also appreciated being able to book the whole hotel - it made it feel like such a special event. I had duck, and my partner had a Dover sole. Compliments to the chef best meal we have had for a while, and we eat out most weekends, so that's good coming from us. Would definitely recommend eating out here. Sat in front of the open fire in the lobby to finish off the evening. Great place and great food. We will be back. It was beautiful, the grounds were stunning and the service was great. When discussing wedding arrangements I worked with the events department to get all the detailed correct, from the food, co-ordination and layout. Cannot recommend Woodland Manor enough... It was a hidden Gem 🌞We held our civil wedding here last weekend! I wanted an intimate, relaxed yet beautiful setting for close family to enjoy. It was beautiful, the grounds were stunning and the service was great. The hotel and staff just seem to get better and better. We hired around 16 rooms, and 34 of us had an exclusive evening dinner in the main restaurant. Food was excellent, the staff were really polite and couldn’t do enough for us all, rooms were great and the service was first class. It’s a really sweet little hotel. Stays two nights. With 60 guests held in autographs room Tiffany the wedding organiser was absolutely brilliant our wedding was perfect from start to finish everything was don’t to perfection and all the staff went out of the way to help and put together to make our wedding perfect not to mention the manger owner of the hotel he even took great part to help staff which we were so impressed our bridal room was amazing and plenty of room for us the girls who works there came up and chatted to us and made sure we r happy the wedding breakfast was fabulous and all my guests responded how nice it was. We cannot praise the team who looked after us enough. The room changes from the ceremony to the wedding breakfast and then the evening dancing were handled perfectly. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
I wouldn't say it is the best wedding but definitely one of the most memorable was the 1st weddings after lockdown. We've had a lot of couples booked with us who have had to postpone once or twice sometimes more. The team here were reunited doing what we love which was emotional in itself. But seeing family all in one room being able to celebrate was really special. To be honest this feeling hasn't worn off yet, somehow lockdown has made weddings even more emotional! We are so attached to these couples and have been on a huge journey with them to get to their wedding day, so seeing their dream day finally able to come to life has been real honour and highlight.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Remember it is your day, don't lose sight of this. Choose exactly what you both want and have the day just as how you want it. That way it will be perfect for you.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We had a wedding in the autumn where the groom chose the brides entry music, with our help and it was a surprise! The bride was so moved by his choice, as were the guests.

We have quite a few! But my personal favourite is by our beautiful Victorian stained glass window! It is simply stunning!

We don't like to spill the tea here!
What’s your favourite canapé?
I have two favourites as they are so delicious! Steak Strip and Chip, Béarnaise Sauce & Mushroom Arancini, Pesto flavoured Bocconcini

Our venue is all about flexibility, something that often surprises couples. We offer both fixed packages and fully bespoke options, so every wedding can be tailored to your vision. While many local venues have set packages, we build every offering around what is most important to you.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
For the team, what makes us proud is seeing the pure joy and happiness happening around us at the hotel, being able to be the host some of the most important days of peoples lives is a real privilege.
