Windout Barn is known for its “blank canvas” style, giving you the freedom to design your day exactly how you imagine it. The barn’s exposed beams and rustic features create a warm, inviting atmosphere that you can personalize with your choice of flowers, lighting, and décor.
The main space comfortably seats up to 100 guests at long trestle tables, perfect for a banquet-style feast. If you want to invite a few more loved ones, there’s room to add tables for an extra 20 guests. Plus, an intimate bar area offers a cozy spot for your friends and family to relax and mingle.

To help you enjoy your wedding without any stress, Windout Barn offers exclusive use of the venue and grounds for a full three-day weekend—from Friday morning to Monday midday. This means you’ll have plenty of time to set up, decorate, and soak in every moment with your guests.
The hire includes access to the barn, a lovely terrace area, and beautiful apple orchards—perfect for outdoor receptions or adding a marquee if you want extra space.

Windout Barn is equipped with everything you need to make your wedding day run smoothly, while still allowing you to bring in your preferred caterers. The venue features a licensed bar that you can stock yourself for a corkage fee, giving you control over your drink options.

Couple accommodation included
3 day hire of the Barn– and the surrounding grounds including a terrace area (10m x 14m) and apple orchards behind the barn if you need additional space. This hire is from Friday 7am to Monday 12pm. The barn seats up to 100 people comfortably along with the bar area and mezzanine. We can add additional tables for a further 20 people if needed.
The Old Piggery, a cottage that can sleep up to 4 people. This would be for 3 overnight stays.
Car park– the gravel parking area is located at the top of the farm a short stroll to the venue. We ask for wedding party ushers to man the car. There is also an overflow carpark in the upper orchard behind the barn.
Camping ground– located at the top of the upper orchard. Or in the adjacent field on the right hand side of the driveway. Please note there are no electric plug-ins.
Loos and shower– located opposite the Barn. These are also available for the camping guests to use during their stay.
7 trestle tables and 14 benches (3.9×0.67m)– there are additional tables that can be used for serving food.
Licensed bar as you enter the Barn.
Fridge and small freezer– which you are welcome to use, we also have metal feed troughs that act as ice buckets which are very good for keeping canned and bottled drinks cool. If additional refrigeration is needed for catering requirements we recommend hiring in a refrigerated van.
Large fire pits- for a cosy evening vibe.
We usually ask for music to end and carriages to be at midnight. However we are happy to be a bit flexible on this, but an extension of time would need to be agreed in advance.

- BBecs & Ben03/02/2025The most incredible day at Windout The most incredible day at WindoutFirst of all - an apology to Minnie & everyone at Windout as I am leaving this review SO LATE. But hopefully I can still do the venue justice. Ben and I got married on 17th August 2024. Windout was the first venue we viewed & the last… it ticked every single box. 1) Beautiful setting with amazing views 2) Blank canvas venue in the sense that it was very flexible as to how we wanted to decorate, catering choice etc which was very important to us to make our wedding really personal 3) Super friendly front of house team (Minnie showed us round and was amazing!) From the minute we booked, we felt really well looked after and Minnie was available for all our questions. We really felt like they wanted to help & were so flexible to all our requests in making the day really “us”. Closer to the date, Minnie and the Windout team were amazing at liasing with external suppliers for us which really took the pressure off. The set up time allocated for the day was incredible, we had so much time to prepare and also were able to drop and leave things stored in the week leading up to the wedding too which was just amazing. On the actual day, the Windout team were incredible, working exceptionally alongside our external catering team. All of our guests said what an amazing day it was and how well looked after they felt. Their glasses were never empty, they knew exactly where things like loos etc were & everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Which again took the pressure off us! Not to mention that Minnie was heavily pregnant on the day, she still was there from start to finish to be on hand. Even helping me walk in my heels down the hill to change into my reception outfit. I feel like I’m missing so much things out, but I just overall cannot recommend this venue enough. We had the most incredible incredible day & we are SO grateful to Windout and the team. It would not have been the same without this setting and the incredible team. And also for their patience in me writing this review so late!!!!! Our guests absolutely loved our venue and so did we. From the exposed beams, to the working farm, to the character and charm of the barn. This venue allows you to make your wedding unique by the chance to choose your own suppliers. It was everything we could wish for and Minnie was so helpful throughout the whole process. The weather was on our side and we were able to have our ceremony and evening food on the terrace, it was perfect. We absolutely love Windout and would highly recommend. Absolutely beautiful venue surrounding by stunning Devon scenery. Our guests absolutely loved our venue and so did we. They helped us host our wedding in the depths of COVID, and we couldn't have asked for more. Our experience also included one guest being saved from his car in a flooded river, Sam obligingly towing car with his Pioneer. Above and beyond. We had an awesome wedding here. It was able to be a combination of beautifully put together and wild and farmy. Our guests loved it and it's left us with incredible pictures we can treasure for ever. Impossible not to get good pics with the backdrops here.the team running it were so helpful too, and on hand for any questions or to support our ideas into reality. Such a stunning location, it really is breathtaking views and amazing character in the barn. We had an awesome wedding here. The setting is truly breathtaking with the valley stretching out beyond the farm as the back drop to where we stood to make our vows. The barn has rustic, old English charm and provides a perfect place to continue celebrating in to the night. We were so well looked after by the Windout team, the communication throughout was excellent and they gave us such a warm welcome. Wouldn't have changed any part of our day!Debs and I got married at Windout Farm in July 2021; on the top lawn overlooking the valley, with swallows ducking and diving over our heads. Flic, Sam and Minnie were brilliant throughout the whole wedding process and so generous with their time, ideas and practical help - nothing was too much trouble. There is something so completely magical about Windout; the ancient barn and its timeless views totally blew everyone away. We have such happy memories of our day at Windout and we truly could not recommend it more highly.We feel incredibly lucky to have had our wedding at Windout. Flic, Sam and Minnie were brilliant throughout the whole wedding process and so generous with their time, ideas and practical help - nothing was too much trouble.
