Katrina was amazing throughout the organisation, we felt nothing was too much trouble and she was always happy to respond to any queries quickly! On the day Kieran was amazing, very attentive checking in with us throughout the evening making sure we were OK and the flow was going to plan or if we wanted to rearrange anything! Thank you both, and all the other hotel staff involved, so much!! Would definitely recommend this venue for a wedding! So many of our guests commented on how great they found the evening! Huge thank you to the Village for helping us to put on a fab wedding reception! They were very flexible and were happy to fit everything around us, being very accommodating. All our guests felt very welcomed and we had lots of praise for the food (the hog roast buffet) with lots of second helpings being had. A magical day!Our day was just perfect, and even now - almost 7 months later - people still talk about how amazing it was and how much they would love to do it all over again. Leighton was in charge of our wedding and stuck by me through whatever I needed. One piece of advice I will say is whatever you want just ask! If they can’t do it they will look for alternatives and suggest other options to get your vision to a reality. Our wedding was pushed back due to Covid but the hotel handled it so well, made us feel like we were just as important as someone whose wedding was 2 weeks away let alone it being 19 months! I would say to trust their recommended suppliers as well, they have worked with the hotel and hotel staff for a long time and are always willing to help and give recommendations on what to do to make your dream a reality - chair covers and bows know the venue like the back of their hand! On the day leighton kept in touch with me on what’s app about how things were coming along which I personally really appreciate (I am a type A control freak!) and he visited me when getting ready which added a personal touch that I am so grateful for. On the morning of the wedding, we were introduced to the staff who were leading with the wedding breakfast and the person who would be looking after us all day and they all went above and beyond to make us feel really looked after, nothing was ever too much trouble. I am of an age where most of my friends are getting married and are spending in excess of £30,000! I have consoled many who have often come away from expensive venues feeling slightly disappointed that expectations they had weren’t quite met. The main points I want to shout about are: 1. The staff made this day beyond run smoothly. There were some slight seating arrangements which were my fault (I had missed a guest off a table) and they dealt with it there and then without me even knowing about it. They had contact with me through out the day checking everything was what we both wanted. My husband and I both felt in very safe hands. Particularly with Leighton who supported the entire planning, preparations and delivery of the wedding. There was also a young guy who unfortunately I can’t remember his name who took over later on and he was so helpful in making sure the evening ran smoothly. 2. The room- this was a generously sized room with a private bar in a separate room and was really exactly what we had been looking for. 3. The value for money!!! We had such excellent value that we came away from our wedding with 150 guests and no debt. 4. The food. We had a 3 course meal for all 150 guests as we decided to have an evening wedding starting at 5pm. The food was really exactly what we had wanted, we had a soup to start, roast chicken potatoes and vegetables and a dessert which I can’t remember now because I was already busy enjoying myself. 5. The schedule. The staff ensured owe could fit in all we had planned without it feeling rushed or regimented. We had a singing waiter which was absolutely fantastic! The points for consideration which weren’t factors of influence for me personally are: 1. There isn’t a place at the venue where you can have photos with a nice background. We contemplated going down to the Taff trail where there is a pretty waterfall and forest about 5 minutes drive away, but decided our goal was to have fun and so we didn’t worry too much about the photos and had them at the venue. 2. It was a rugby day so there were not many rooms left and with many family coming from London most had to stay in another hotel. This could be prevented with early booking I have had so many comments about what an absolutely brilliant wedding this was, and we are both so glad that we decided to have our wedding here!We got married at the village hotel and I want to shout from the hills about what a fantastic day we had.
