Description
- Set in the beautiful Exe Valley, along a hedge-lined driveway and beyond a picturesque pond and gardens, you will arrive at this stunning barn.
- It features substantial wooden beams, black steel framework and can seat up to 140 for a wedding breakfast. It also includes a glazed bar leading to a terrace overlooking the paddocks and rolling hills of the Devon countryside.
- Valleyside Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies with the option of an outdoor ceremony in the Mediterranean-style courtyard and this attractive space and adjoining snug bar can also be used for reception drinks.
- There are three luxury, award-winning glamping tents on-site sleeping up to 18 guests and the couple have a dedicated luxury honeymoon suite. Catering and decoration is flexible allowing couples to create their own bespoke wedding day of their dreams.
- Located in the historic village of Bickleigh between Exeter and Tiverton it is easily accessible but within a countryside setting. We’d love to show you around this special place and help create your perfect wedding day!

Hello, I'm Emma and I run Valleyside Barn with my husband Matt. Our own barn wedding inspired our move to Devon from London over six years ago. We are all about forward planning so you can enjoy every second of your wedding day! We are here to support you in your wedding planning journey from initial viewing right through to the wedding day itself. We were drawn to the natural beauty of the grounds, the charm of the barn, and the peaceful countryside setting – it just felt right. It was everything we had imagined and more. What truly confirmed we made the right choice was how smoothly everything ran on the day. Emma and Matt were absolutely fantastic – they were always there when we needed them, but never intrusive. Their presence was calm and reassuring, and they made sure everything unfolded exactly as planned. Communication throughout the entire planning process was exceptional. Emma was always quick to respond to our questions, no matter how small, and she made us feel completely supported every step of the way. That level of care and professionalism made a world of difference. The barn itself is stunning – beautifully maintained with a perfect balance of rustic charm and elegance. The grounds provided the perfect backdrop for our photos, and so many of our guests commented on how breathtaking the venue was. Valleyside Barn gave us the wedding we envisioned – relaxed, beautiful, and filled with love. It was a short walk from a pub that was accommodating our guests and we hired the glamping tents and they were awesome! Another massive factor was that they are dog friendly! The hosts, Emma & Matt were amazing from day one, very accommodating and helpful. Communication was efficient too. We just had the most perfect experience. Would 10/10 recommend them.We chose Valleyside Barn for a number of reasons - it was absolutely stunning, so, so peaceful too. It was a short walk from a pub that was accommodating our guests and we hired the glamping tents and they were awesome! Another massive factor was that they are dog friendly! Wedding planning was made so simple by the efficiency of how Valleyside Barn is run and flexibility to add our personal touch to make the day our own. All the staff on the day, really cared to ensure our wedding was exactly how we imagined it to be. An added bonus is the on-site accommodation which brought a lot of fun to us and our guests for the whole weekend! We’re absolutely thrilled we chose to have our summer wedding there: beautiful location, brilliant hosts and excellent facilities. Emma and Matt have picked a glorious spot - everyone remarked on how splendid, green and peaceful the surroundings were - and then furnished it with everything you’d want for a wedding. The prep kitchen was a hit with the caterers, the barn was lovely and airy, you’ve the courtyard for the reception drinks, everything is easily accessible for suppliers (and, indeed, the venue is really easy to reach from both Exeter and Tiverton Parkway for your guests)and the honeymoon suite is really comfortable and spacious (crucial for those getting ready with a few too many bridesmaids!). As an event overseer, Emma is excellent: incredibly details-focussed, very calm and just a nice person to boot. She and Matt were such wonderful hosts & did everything they could to make it a perfect day for us (down to the ordering of the chairs, Matt!) - we can’t thank them enough, we had the best day ever - no stress, just huge fun.
