Entering the magnificent tall wooden gates of the Walled Garden is like stepping into a secret garden, where you are greeted by a 40-metre long pergola of beautiful wisteria, roses, clematis and grape vines, all adorned with thousands of fairy lights. The Family Garden within has been transformed into a magical private garden, able to seat up to 100 guests either side of the aisle leading to a wooden arbor where the ceremony can take place.
Afterwards, it’s the ideal location to serve your guests with some pre-reception drinks whilst you take the opportunity to explore the rest of the park with your photographer.
At the other end of the pergola, the events arena is the perfect location to host a large marquee for the wedding breakfast and evening reception. Measuring more than 1,000 square metres, there’s ample room for extra entertainment like a band or giant garden games.
There’s no guarantee that the sun will shine, which is why we also have an indoor space called The Barn where you can have your ceremony and/or reception. This space is fully enclosed with a courtyard space to still provide you with that outdoor feel.
Tilgate Park is set in more than 200 acres of lakes and ancient woodlands. The Walled Garden has always been a firm favourite at Tilgate Park, playing host to peaceful formal gardens and ponds, an evergreen hedge maze, events arena and café, making it the perfect location for celebrations like yours.

The kids loved running through the maze. All the gardens were beautiful and as our wedding was in May most of the flowers were out, so there was so much colour. The wedding garden is just perfect for a sunny wedding reception. The marquee was big enough to seat all 100 of our guests with space for a dance floor and a bar, meaning we didn't have to move the tables for the evening guests. Everything about the process of booking was stress-free and straightforward. We had our wedding at Tilgate Park Walled Gardens in June 2022 and it was the most perfect day. The team were great and informative, always at the end of the phone for any question big or small. The venue is just beautiful. As we had a spring wedding, all the flowers were in bloom and it made our day that even more beautiful. I have no faults at all. The best day of our lives.On 27.5.22 myself and my husband got married in the Walled Gardens and had a marquee reception just next to the gardens. We then had the wedding reception at Tilgate Park in the building called The Barn. We chose Tilgate park because Ashlee has memories growing up and playing in the park with friends and family. We've also had many picnics, barbecues, and walks around the lakes with friends and family, and really enjoy getting out on our mountain bikes and cycling around the park. The park is wonderful setting for a wedding. The staff made the day so easy and were brilliant, especially Sabrina Who went above and beyond to make your day special. Sabrina Offered to drive us and the photographer around the lake in the golf buggy that the Rangers normally use to get around. This allows some super photographs to be taken of our special day. The barn its self is a lovely building, we had the marquee attached to the side of the building so we could spread people around and give plenty of space to everybody. The venue allowed us to choose our own caterers and bar company who made the day even more special. We would highly recommend Tilgate Park for your wedding.
