- MMr & Mrs Bowker07/04/2022The whole team was wonderful.The whole team was wonderful.Thank you for everything you did to make Victoria and Mark’s wedding go so smoothly. It was a fabulous day, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. You were amazing, so organised and aware of every minute detail on the day. I didn’t have to worry that someone might be missing anything as you had it all in hand. The whole team was wonderful. We cannot thank you enough. The ceremony was flawless, the glass of fizz to settle Victoria and my nerves before walking down the aisle was a great bonus. The music was just what we asked for. Everyone was sat where they should have been, apart from Ian forgetting the only two words he had to say, even I have no control over that ha-ha, it couldn’t have been more perfect! The room was beautifully set up. The bar staff were wonderful. The night time set up was fab. The balcony was a welcome retreat for when the dancers got too hot. The views from the room, both during the day and at night were spectacular, the light pollution is near non-existent and I could quite happily spend many a night up there with a glass or two of wine. Thank you and Emma and the whole team for making it such a wonderful day. I only have one daughter and two sons left to get married, so you never know, we may be there again. I have been trying to find the words to describe how unbelievable Thornton Hall Weddings had been on our wedding journey but whatever I say still won't be enough to really tell you how great they have been but I'll try give you an insight. Adam and I were meant to get married at another venue during 2020 but with only weeks to go, covid happened and we postponed. Sadly our venue went into administration so we then had to find another venue. I came across Thornton and even though I've been visiting the farm for a few years now didn't even realize they were a wedding venue but the pictures looked beautiful. I emailed them and asked if we could have a show around. From this moment they have been brilliant. Scarlett - We are truly truly truly grateful for everything you have done. You have been fantastic throughout. From the initial show around where you sparked our drive to get married again, to answering our hundreds of questions and guiding us perfectly around planning even down to the smallest details, linking in with our suppliers so I didn't have to send loads of emails, to the day of the wedding and even afterwards keeping in touch. The day really wouldn't have been the same without you. The attention to detail by everyone at Thornton is outstanding. From the personalised cocktails on the day and even getting a first Christmas card as Mr and Mrs. It's the little touches that really do make them stand out. We were the first wedding of 2021 and had covid restrictions but you would have never known as the day ran so smoothly and I didn't have to worry about anything. The day was perfect. I am so excited to see how they can transform and build on what are already solid foundations for weddings, as I see them coming up with new innovative ideas which I know will be a success for brides and grooms. Thornton Hall will always hold such a special place in my heart and I wouldn't want to trust anyone else with our big day, who knows maybe one day I'll convince Adam to renew our vows there! - MMr & Mrs Green07/04/2022Sophie & Ryan 💍Sophie & Ryan 💍' After visiting numerous wedding venues trying to find the perfect one for our special day a friend recommended Thornton Hall to us as she’d seen it as a new wedding venue being advertised online. We thought we had found the perfect one however we needed to be sure and so visited Thornton Hall. From the second we walked it in even though it wasn’t finished we knew this place had to be where we got married. The views, the chandelier, the huge windows, the farm setting, the incredible attention to detail and most of all the owners Emma and Chris’ vision just sold it immediately. Scarlett our wedding planner was on hand whenever we needed her, and during a pandemic with lots of uncertainty about whether it could even go ahead or what restrictions we could have…we needed her a lot! The team went above and beyond and did their best to reassure us we would have the best day. As things slowly came together, we were confident Scarlett and the team had everything under control, even making sure the bar was stocked with our favourite drinks. The team even designed our own cocktails and produced absolutely stunning personalised drinks menu for us which was a fantastic touch and a talking point on the day. On the day nothing was too much effort, and we were allowed to just enjoy our day with the peace of mind of knowing the amazing team had everything covered. Our son Oscar loved whenever we had to come into the farm as everyone always made a fuss about him, and he especially loved the interactive entertainers from the farm who even came over to him during our wedding day outside. At Thornton Hall it didn’t for one second feel like we were a number or another client. Every single member of staff was so friendly and went above and beyond and still do whenever we see them to this day! The Meadows
For couples dreaming of an outdoor wedding ceremony, The Meadows offers a relaxed and picturesque setting surrounded by nature. Exchange your vows beneath our beautiful pergola while enjoying the peaceful countryside atmosphere that makes outdoor weddings at Thornton Hall Country Park so special.
The outdoor ceremony area can accommodate up to 90 guests undercover for the ceremony.
Is Thornton Hall licensed for civil ceremonies?
One of the most unique features of our wedding venue is that the border between Lancashire and Yorkshire runs directly through the heart of the estate. This allows couples the rare opportunity to choose which county they would like to marry in.*
For a more personal ceremony, a celebrant-led wedding gives you full creative freedom – no registrar restrictions, and the flexibility to hold your ceremony in either county.
*You are required to apply to the correct registrar and are unable to swap locations on your big day.
