What's Included?
THE DAY BEFORE
Our Experienced wedding team will be on hand with assistance and guidance with your set up along with suppliers. We and the catering team will lay out tables and chairs ahead of your midday arrival so you can create those personal elements. Once complete, we will do a full ceremony run through to ease any nerves. Estate accommodation will be available from after your setup to you and your guests to relax and enjoy the evening ahead of your big day.
ON THE DAY
Our experienced wedding team will be on site first thing in the morning, welcoming your suppliers back to the venue, assisting with any last-minute details. Our Wedding Team will liaise with any suppliers on the day, oversee your wedding ceremony, and coordinate your wedding day from start to finish. Most importantly, we are here for you and your guests throughout the day to deliver a seamless and personal service on your wedding day.
THE DAY AFTER
Relax knowing the majority, if not all the tidying and packing away has been taken care of by our wedding team. Our wedding team will ensure that all of your personal belongings, furniture, and decor are packed up ready for an easy collection the following day. We will arrange directly with your suppliers for their collections of any hired items, so you can start your honeymoon, enjoy a day after brunch or ensure you don’t miss any important goodbyes with guests.
The Thatched Barn
With its vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and brick walls, and soft lighting, the Thatched Barn is our most romantic space. Working closely with you, our event management team will create a breathtaking space for an unforgettable ceremony. Later, when the sun is setting, enjoy after-dinner drinks on the West Terrace and your first dance in the Thatched Barn.
The Mulberry Room
Forming the southern wing of The Woodyard, and once home to the sawmill which now stands just outside, the Mulberry Room is our light and bright blank canvas: perfect for creating the wedding breakfast of your dreams. Working with our event management team you can dress The Mulberry Room to reflect your personal character and style. Alternatively host your wedding ceremony in The Mulberry Room before retiring to the Thatched Barn for a candlelit supper.
Lake Island & Lake Island
Offering a truly unique setting to say, “I do”, our lake island is a wonderfully scenic spot for a ceremony. Our newly built summerhouse frames the bride and groom as they make their vows. The neighbouring boathouse is the mooring for the You and I, our 1930s wooden rowing boat. Brides are invited to take a quiet moment with their father as he rows her across the lake to a memorable arrival at the island.
Accommodation
One of our favourite parts of hosting weddings is our ability to accommodate up to 27 of your guests across the estate, extending your celebrations across the whole of your celebration. Our couples are given priority booking on our full range of accommodation.
The best weddings are always the most relaxed weddings. Harriet, William and their guests enjoyed the beautiful weather and setting in such warm and relaxed company. Everyone one was there to enjoy themselves, and that's what counts.
Enjoy the process. It will all come together in the end so enjoy the planning process, and try not to stress or compare your ideas with others. Your wedding is meant to be about the two of you, and what the two of you love and enjoy, rather than worrying about the most recent trend or craze.
A firm favourite has to be the time a bride snuck off for dhol drum lessons every Sunday for 6 months. They had booked dhol drummers to announce the two of them into the room for the evening party - a nod to his Indian heritage, and once they were on the dance floor, she surprised him (and all the guests) with a solo dhol drum performance.
Historic, natural, spacious, characterful and charming.
The Lake Island during the golden hour before sunset is a favourite for couples. Dragonflies dance around the glass surface and a family of swans is often seen there as they nest on the island.
We are not in a position to mention our clients or guests by name.
Sukiyaki Wagyu beef canapé - they really do melt in you mouth.
Has to be a hog roast - there are many fantastic street food vans you can book for your wedding.
The setting of the venue is Worstead Park - a Humphry Repton landscape untouched for 100 years until now. It plays host to all kinds of wildlife including deer, otter, water birds and dragonfly. You really are isolated in nature with only your loved ones and wildlife for company.
We are most proud of the care taken by all our staff in hosting guests on the estate.
