We can guarantee there will only be one wedding a day here at the Wherry Hotel, meaning exclusivity. Offering a new colour coordinated lighting system, we can illuminate the room in your own unique theme, to create a modern, elegant and timeless atmosphere. The Suite offers weddings from 60 people to 250 people for a wedding breakfast, with exclusive all year packages from £3995. The suite offers a stage for entertainment, dance floor, exclusive bar, large stage projector, private toilets and much more. The doors to the suite open onto a extensive patio area for your private use looking onto the beautiful Oulton Broads.

Welcome to The Wherry Hotel on Bridebook! My name is Luke and I am lucky enough to be the General Manager at the Hotel. I have been in the wedding industry for 18 years in various different roles. I am so excited to be in this position in such a beautiful venue.. I love nothing more than that feeling I get from meeting you at our initial meeting, getting to know you through the planning process and finally getting to see you marry each other!

Your evening buffet can be tailored on this package and starts from £13.95pp with a minimum of 75 guests.

For us, it was great and really important to be up in your part of the county – somewhere we don’t get to too often. Working with you and your staff has been an absolute delight – nothing has been too much trouble, you’ve been so accommodating, and your staff on the ground serving the tea etc. should be commended for their good nature, attitude, and attention to detail – perfect for what we needed. We haven’t totted up the exact total of how much we raised, but it’s over £1000! Big thank you once again and I hope we gave you some valuable publicity. After much delibration we decided to bring our postponed wedding forward, May 2nd to November 7th then to September 12th. Best decision ever! We knew what we booked we were going to get. We could get excited and we did. All the things we had to do to keep everyone safe fitted in and did not seem like an issue that you might think. Was a little weird seeing everyone so spaced out in ceremony but to be honest my eyes were mainly on my groom so didn’t even pay that much attention to the fact everyone were wearing the masks I made. Yes the ceremony was shorter but did not seem less special. We got married and I got to kiss my HUSBAND! The staff were AMAZING! They set everything up so well and better than I imagined, the meals were incredible. We had such a special day with those that we truly love. I am also looking forward to having my 40th birthday party/reception there next year. Best excuse to wear my stunning dress again! Mr and Mrs NichollsNow what can I say about the day? Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
All our wedding are special and unique, but one of our first weddings was a Japanese themed wedding. The couple had met whilst working as teachers in Japan. The bride made origami centerpieces and as a surprise guests flew in from Japan to surprise the Bride! She couldn't believe that along with the Groom we had managed to keep the additional rooms, table settings and meals a surprise. Another memorable time was a baby and gender reveal after the ceremony on our large projector screen, lots of tears and celebrations followed after the couple announced their news to their guests. One of our couples also arrived via boat straight onto our Moorings and in for the ceremony!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
This is your day! So many couples worry sometimes about keeping their guests happy. Yes they make up a huge part of your day BUT it is YOUR day.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
A recent wedding had the Groom sing his speech to his new wife. He contaced me a few weeks earlier to ask for my help and it was so lovely to see her reaction on the wedding day.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Definitely directly on our bank to the Oulton Broads. We reserve a large photo area specifically for your big day with a completely unspoilt view of the Broads as your backdrop. The sunset is a MUST have image if your quick enough! Most of our couples also cross the wooden footbridge to the park next to us (approx 5 minute walk) for some lovely photos in the bandstand or on the Jetty.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our breathtaking View. It really does need to be seen to be believed. The panoramic view across the broads is unspoilt and the sunsets are incredible.
