We are delighted to be able to share a part of our historic but still functioning textile factory. Only available for a very limited number of industrial/barn style weddings each year. It is a truly unique venue, with a number of handcrafted unique items included in the hire cost which compliment the style and character of the venue. Like everyone else looking for something a bit different you will love it. It’s minutes from Dundee City centre, therefore within easy reach of accommodation!

You will not meet anyone as genuine and calm at a wedding venue than him. From the moment we booked, no question was too big or too small, and he was more than accommodating for our visits to measure this and check that. His vibe definitely was a factor in us choosing the weaving shed for our wedding. The main factor, though, is this absolute gem of a venue. My now-wife was skeptical because it was so hidden, but from the moment we walked in the door, we fell in love with it. The location makes the venue even more mesmerising. The venue was more than able to accommodate our 150 guests. It felt more than comfortable, and there was lots of space for our younger guests and some who are still young at heart to run and have a carry-on without getting in the way. The venue was so customisable that we got the day of our dreams, and the fact we were able to decorate on the Friday meant that we weren’t rushed and were able to enjoy the day. A lot of our vendors commented that this also made the job easier for them and was stress-free. The fact we were able to derig the venue on the Monday meant that we could also enjoy the Sunday after our wedding and not have to worry about the stress of getting everything out of the venue. On the day of our wedding, nearly everyone we spoke to commented on how ‘cool’ and ‘stunning’ the venue was. Hamish and his team were all amazing, super helpful, and nothing was a problem for the day. The team on the bar were quick, efficient, and professional. For a busy day, there didn’t seem to be a queue at the bar all day. All in all, we had the most perfect wedding, and Hamish and his team played a massive role in that. Hamish was great at answering our questions and nothing felt like too much trouble. Through our set up, Hamish was there when we needed him with a drill bit, a ladder, advice and also gave us full flexibility to make the space our own which was a huge factor for us. The day ran super smoothly and the venue team were all lovely. There are different areas for ceremony, drinks reception and the meal so you can space out the day without needing to reset and there is plenty of room. From start to finish, the experience was incredible. Hamish is amazing at what he does - I can’t imagine many venue owners being as accommodating and supportive as he was. When we first viewed The Weaving Shed, Hamish took the time to ask about our plans, any specific requirements we had, and how we could bring those ideas to life. That initial visit made such a strong impression on us that we booked a date soon after. One of the best parts of the planning process was being able to visit the venue as often as we needed (which was quite a few times!) to sort out details like decorations, seating arrangements, and where our caterers would set up. Hamish was always happy to help, offering suggestions and making the whole experience both easy and enjoyable. When it came time to decorate, Hamish once again went above and beyond - even climbing up a ladder to help us hang drapes, among other things. At the same time, he gave us space when we needed it, which was greatly appreciated. On the big day, the staff were phenomenal - friendly, professional, and attentive. It honestly made such a difference knowing we were in good hands and could fully relax and take it all in. Our guests were all really happy with the drinks selection and the service at the bar too – we got loads of compliments about how good the day was and so much of that was down to the staff. Overall, we couldn’t recommend The Weaving Shed highly enough. It strikes the perfect balance between giving you the freedom to make your wedding uniquely yours, while also providing the support and guidance to bring it all together. We got married at The Weaving Shed on 21st June 2025 and it was an absolute dream from start to finish. We knew just from seeing photos online that it was going to be an amazing venue, but seeing it in person blew us away and as soon as we walked in, we knew it was the venue for us. We wanted something rustic, with loads of space and character to fill with our DIY decor and we really hit the jackpot with The Weaving Shed. Hamish was a pleasure to deal with and incredibly helpful from the very first meeting, he took an interest in our choices and plans for the day, and made great suggestions based on his experiences from past weddings. We went back to visit 5 or 6 times between booking and the actual wedding day and each time Hamish was just as welcoming and helpful as ever, nothing was too much to ask. On the day Hamish and his team were brilliant and everything was seamless. Our guests have not stopped raving about the atmosphere and how phenomenal the venue was. We honestly wish we could do it all again, and we would pick The Weaving Shed every time. Thank you Hamish and staff for helping us celebrate the best day of our lives! In the end it exceeded our high expectations and people have been raving about it ever since! Hamish and his staff were incredibly helpful. Not only did he support our choices and decisions, but he always seemed excited by them himself and did whatever he could to accommodate. We knew our guests like a party, so did have slight concerns that the bar might be quite small (nothing's worse than a wedding with long queues for drinks!), but Hamish assured us it would be fine and there was never more than a couple of people waiting to be served at any time. The acoustics were great for the celebrant and the band (they loved it too!) and the amazing ceremony room turned into a great play area for our 2 year old and her cousins- close enough that someone could always keep an eye on her, but far enough away that she could nap and have a great night herself without being disturbed... until she decided to join in the party anyway. It was also incredibly handy that it was so central, perfect for our guests getting to and from. We planned the wedding in just over five months and Hamish was ever so helpful. We really couldn’t recommend the venue more to anyone looking to get married. We would be back at The Weaving Shed every month to get married if we could. Everything was perfect. The space is incredible! There is so much space to work with and you are able to put your own spin on it. Hamish went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was perfect. We can’t recommend The Weaving Shed and Hamish enough. It is a really special venue.This was the only wedding venue my husband and I looked at, and as soon as we walked into the space we knew it was where we were going to get married! What part of your business are you most proud of?
Being able to show visitors the venue and share with them the relatively unknown historic textile design roll the factory played in the Arts and Crafts movement also sharing with them the current industrial textile uses that continue today. Hand crafted tables, bars and benches!
