We decided to book the village, because looking at the venue it looked very special, it was only the second venue I looked at but I knew it was the one.
I met with someone who showed me round and I went threw the contract with him and made some changes, the price was also way under my budget! Which I honestly couldn’t believe.
I thought he was going to be the only person I was going to deal with up until the wedding, but unfortunately he left and after that the change over of staff was quite high, in 16 months I dealt with 4 different members of staff, as they left as quick as the came, which getting closer to the day really started to worry me, and every time there was a change over of staff I had to go in for meetings to run threw the contracts again, this was quite frustrating for me.
The last member of staff I worked with was Hayley and her team, they really put me at ease and really went above and beyond to make our day special.
We decided to stay as a family the night before, we were in separate rooms (we have 4 children all together) but decided to have a meal in the restaurant before we went our separate ways.
The meal we had the night before was amazing, they reserved us a table and decorated it for us.
There was also a live singer which we also really enjoyed.
The morning of the wedding ran smoothly, and that was thanks to the fabulous staff!
The lady who was looking after us, communicated well with us, made sure we had everything we wanted, even brought us breakfast to our rooms, she sent the make up artist, photographer ect up to us so we again didn’t have to do anything!
She made sure everyone was where they needed to be, walking down the aisle, the room was just perfect! It was everything I imagined and more!
Once we were married, whilst photos were been taken the staff brought the canapés round, which were really tasty!
We were then announced into the main room for our wedding breakfast, the room was breath taking, I couldn’t believe how beautiful it looked, the attention to detail was fantastic!
We sat down to eat, we chose the king prawn salad, which I wasn’t so keen on, neither we’re most of the guests, I think it had been left out a bit long before been served, we had lamb for a main which was delicious and cooked perfectly then cheesecake for desert which again was delicious.
For the kids starter they had cheesy garlic bread (which you can’t go wrong with) then for mains they had chicken, which was disappointing, it was a chicken breast in the middle of the plate with some watery gravy and I don’t think any of the kids ate it. They had fudge cake for desert which went down very well!
For the evening reception the room was changed around again, we had a dj and Dancefloor, once again the room looked fantastic! The dj had everyone up and dancing!
We had a buffet, and I sadly didn’t try any of it! But everyone else said how tasty it was! There was a bit of something for everyone!
Once the night was over we headed back to our room, I was a little disappointed that a cleaner hadn’t been in and given the room a once over.
The morning after we had a buffet breakfast, it was really good food with a big selection!
Upon leaving the staff had gathered everything for us to take home the cake was boxed up and all the bits and bobs we brought to decorate the room with.
The staff that worked the day of the wedding were absolutely amazing, I can’t rate them enough!
I would definitely Recommend booking an appointment to have a look at the venue, and also attend the wedding fair so you can see how the room will be decorated or give you some ideas as the people who dress the room do have a website but it’s quite outdated! But the job they did on the day was stunning!
