Description
Conceived as a ‘House of Delight’ for James I’s Queen, this exquisite former royal residence is set in the green and leafy surroundings of Greenwich Park, London, with spectacular views across the gardens of historic Greenwich to the River Thames and the contrasting skyscrapers of Canary Wharf beyond.
Designed by the pioneering architect Inigo Jones, the Queen’s House is Britain’s first and finest classical building and a masterpiece of 17th-century architecture. The House is now filled with art and design classics both old and new, including paintings by great British and European masters.
From drinks on the lawns with sweeping park views, to unforgettable ceremonies and dinners in the striking Great Hall, to dancing into the night in the atmospheric stone-arched Undercroft, the Queen’s House is a very special place to celebrate.

The RMG team were professional, friendly, and did whatever they could to accommodate our requests while following their guidelines. They arranged walk throughs for us a few different times so we could get a sense of the space and knew what the day would (roughly) look like, and were there to answer any and every question. If anyone is in need of a gorgeous venue with the most supportive team, I could recommend the Queen's House more! Thank you again Our wedding at the Queen's House was perfect. The RMG team were professional, friendly, and did whatever they could to accommodate our requests while following their guidelines. This wedding used Kerb as their caterers so needed additional main distribution for their vendors, as well as wanting a dancefloor laid and extra lighting outside. The run up and organising of the elements went smoothly and the only issue on the day for us was the weather. With our Queen's House onsite package, this element was easy as normal though again they had things a little bit different with the ceremony taking place outside. I love working with the RMG team, they are professional, knowledgeable and just a pleasure to work with! It is always an absolute pleasure to work here with the event team at The Royal Museums Greenwich as well as alongside the other suppliers. Work out what is most important about the day to you both and focus on that throughout. It'll help avoid you getting sidetracked by other things!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
A couple had a guest in attendance who was deaf; they worked throughout the planning with our production supplier to closed-caption the speeches on screens so the guest felt included through all elements!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The Loggia at the back of the house with stunning sweeping views of Greenwich Park, perfect for those post ceremony couple shots.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
A few....but our lips are sealed.
What’s your favourite canapé?
You'd have to ask our caterers, we couldn't possibly pick!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Mini burgers! Always...
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The Tulip Stairs!! Britain's first spiral staircase built without a central supporting column...has to be seen to be believed.
