Our beautiful wedding venue was the proud winner of the television programme, “Four Weddings”; it is hardly surprising as we are licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships and we offer truly magnificent wedding and banqueting suites for your special day. Our Wedding Coordinators at The Queen Hotel are absolutely committed to the creation and delivery of the very best of wedding services. We have built up a fantastic reputation over a number of years in the provision of bespoke, stylish and professional events whilst retaining a warmth of hospitality which ensures our wedding parties are cared for from start to finish. This is all about your day and we will guarantee the most unique, special and memorable occasion with attention to every detail. There are a number of rooms in the hotel with marriage licenses, and our team of experts are on hand to advise on the options available. The hotel can offer multiple areas for your wedding ceremony including our Italian Terrace Garden setting along with 2 impressive suites fully licensed for weddings, dependent on your individual preferences, guest numbers and bespoke arrangements. A special thank you to Ryan and Eliza, our coordinators, who were amazing throughout the whole process. They were so helpful, organised, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect for us. On the day itself, everything ran flawlessly. The service team were outstanding – friendly, professional, and so attentive to us and our guests. We received so many compliments about the food, the atmosphere, and how well organised everything was. It truly felt like the team cared as much about our day as we did. The venue is beautiful and made the perfect setting for our wedding. We are so grateful to everyone involved for helping create such a special and memorable day. We genuinely couldn’t have asked for more, and we would highly recommend the hotel to any future couples. The venue has been beautifully refurbished and the events team are second to none. The team were more than willing to work with us to plan a bespoke tapas menu to suit our tastes and arrange for our final toast to be a Baby Guinness for everyone! The Lily Langtry suite where we stayed is beautifully done out and so spacious - perfect for getting ready with the hair and makeup team. Caroline, Eliza and all the team were amazing. Checking on me during the day making sure I had everything I needed whether that was last minute food, glass of fizz and even providing emergency sellotape and scissors at one point. I literally can't fault them or thank them enough for their care and support to us and our guests - they truly made the day special and it was perfect in every way. No official photos as yet but so looking forward to getting them later this week :) Courteous to not only the guests but all suppliers - nothing was too much trouble and they responded quickly to any question or requestMyself and my husband had the best day last Saturday. Food was fanatic, we had their resident DJ and he was really friendly. We had a fantastic day thanks to them. We had our wedding (ceremony and reception) at the Queen Hotel in March of this year after moving the date back 3 months due to the unplanned arrival of our little boy. When we found out we were expecting we were quite panicked due to the fact we had already booked a date and paid the deposit, however the wedding planners and hotel management could not have been any more helpful; we were reassured immediately that moving the date would not be an issue and that they were happy to wait for us to confirm after scans etc. The date was moved and we incurred no extra costs, all original plans were honoured and our guests booking for rooms were also moved without issue. To the actual day - the short version is this; if a wedding were something to be repeated I would not hesitate in booking The Queen again. The day was amazing and the staff are a credit to the hotel. The rooms were dressed to perfection, the food was fantastic; several of our guests commented it was some of the best food they had been served at a wedding and no one went hungry as the portions are more than enough for even the hungriest of wedding guests! We had 9 guests with very specific dietary requirements due to allergies and religious belief - all catered for without issue. Everyone from the Master of ceremonies Louise; our wedding co-ordinator Janette; the waiting on staff; the reception staff - everyone was amazing, there was nothing they wouldn't do to help. One example of this; my cousin's little girl has to eat at regular times for health reasons and is quite fussy and the canapés weren't what she wanted - what did the staff do, went off and made her a sandwich of her choosing at no cost. I really could go on all day about how fantastic the hotel was but the word count is quickly running out. Thank you to all the staff - we look forward to coming back for our one year anniversary next year!Where to start... We could not recommend it enough, the day was fantastic from start to finish, the staff attentive and very thorougher with every small detail. I knew I wanted an outside area and the courtyard provided the perfect space. The hotel itself was just as impressive, I loved the grand staircase and the quirky little additions such as the huge chair - perfect for photo opportunities. Our ceremony and the wedding breakfast were both in the palazzo which was just a beautiful room flooded with natural light. The evening reception was held next door in the colonnades room which was a fantastic sized room. The food was absolutely top notch and extremely high quality. The staff were so helpful throughout the whole process. The initial wedding coordinator was absolutely fantastic and helped sell the hotel. When we heard she was leaving to work with a sister hotel, I had my reservations about who we would deal with now but they were unnecessary. It was a flawless transition and Janette has been fantastic. Like all brides, lots of thoughts and ideas crossing my mind and I sent her so many e-mails but she was always so helpful throughout. The day before we went to drop some stuff off and spoke to the duty manager. He really put us at ease without being condescending. On the day, we worked with Oana who was just a star. Anything I needed, she had already anticipated and knew I needed it before I did! She kept everything on track and was so on the ball. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better team. The whole day was perfect. As the weather was nice, we were able to make use of the outside area for photos and the drinks reception. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
We hosted a fancy dress wedding where the Bride was the Ice Queen from the Chronicles of Narnia, and it was quite a sight to behold! Her gorgeous dress was a beautiful shade of blue, and the guests were all dressed in their own fanciful costumes.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Our number one wedding planning tip for couples is to make sure you are creating the perfect day for the both of you, not everyone else, put your own personal touches into the day and ensure to plan a little time to spend together on your own to take it all in, the day goes so quickly.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
A wedding that stands out was one where the Bride and Groom had different religious faiths and there were two ceremonies - the traditional civil ceremony and then a Muslim blessing called a Nikah, this was so important to the Groom and I thought the way the Bride and all their families embraced this was just lovely!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our stunning staircase is definitely the best photo spot at our venue! It has a beautiful and intricate detailing that makes for a stunning backdrop for any photo. With its high ceilings, it's the perfect place for capturing some amazing memories.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Many celebrities have stayed at the Queen Hotel over the past 160 years including Charles Dickens, Cecil Rhodes, Lily Langtry and the Queen herself even drove past the hotel!
What’s your favourite canapé?
Our favourite canapé would have to be the Burger Sliders, they're the perfect bite to eat while all of your guests are mingling over some drinks in the terrace gardens!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Our favourite midnight treat would have to be mini cones of fish and chips! They're such a delicious snack, and they're perfect for when you want something a little indulgent late at night. The crispy fish, the salty chips, and the tartar sauce all combine to make a really tasty treat.

Our outdoor Italian terraced gardens are truly unique and offer an unparalleled atmosphere for any event. With the historic Baltic Exchange as the centerpiece, this hidden gem provides a romantic and stunning backdrop for any occasion. The lush greenery and beautiful stone steps offer an unforgettable event experience.
