As your wedding car arrives in front of the grand entrance, your photographer will have the perfect opportunity for beautiful pictures. Enter through impressive revolving doors into our fine hallway and the elegant atmosphere will lend an air of excitement and expectation. Because we are licensed for civil ceremonies, you can choose from a selection of reception rooms to take your vows, or you can marry in our romantic Garden Pavilion on the lawns, festooned with the flowers you have chosen, as your guests look on. The Old Swan has a selection of rooms that are perfect for small intimate events, or a lavish party for up to 400 guests, including our famous Garden Ballroom or our magnificent glass-ceilinged Wedgwood Suite. Mingle with your guests on the lawns for your reception drinks and canapés, and your wedding breakfast will be set just as you planned it, featuring the menus you have carefully chosen from our extensive selection. We had our wedding on the 25th April 2025 and booked the venue in 2023 after visiting their wedding showcase. My biggest advice for anyone looking at this hotel as a wedding venue is to ignore the website and to physically visit it, as the website is outdated. From start to finish the coordinators have been great, constant support and communication. The wedding day itself was so smooth thanks to Rachel and Tanya. All aspects were covered, they were so calming and nothing was too much trouble. Myself (bride) and a few others were able to set up the wedding breakfast and ceremony room the night before which eased stress for the wedding morning. The bits that we couldn’t do were completed by Tanya, Rachel and other staff members which certainly didn’t disappoint and was in keeping with our vision. Bar and serving staff were also incredible, food was served piping hot and many guests were complimenting how good the food was. If staff couldn’t make a certain drink at the pop up bar they would see what they could do at the main bar to meet the guests needs. All of the decor we brought was lovingly stored in a secure room for us to collect in the morning, staff even cleaned when we finished dancing and made sure our things were safe! Honestly, I couldn’t imagine the day going as smooth as it did. I am truly so thankful to the Old Swan for having us and hosting such a magical day, even when the hotel was super busy with other non wedding guests. Thank you all! Overall, we were so happy that we decided to get married at the Old Swan and would 100% recommend it to any couples looking to wed/anyone who was wishing to stay in Harrogate. From the months of planning that went into it, to the day itself, the staff of Old Swan were so professional. A special mention to Elisha who took the time to answer my many emails in the planning stages! The Old Swan provided a very flexible and personal service. The bridal suite was very spacious, which allowed myself and the bridesmaids to all get ready together. The Master of Ceremonies, Kate, was very friendly and helped the day run smoothly. The food was of a very high standard, and accommodated different dietary requirements (GF, vegetarian). The gardens provided a perfect backdrop for our wedding photos, which we will treasure forever :) there was no one else around, so we didn't feel overlooked whilst the photos were being taken.
