The Lawrence isn’t just a hotel it’s an experience. Enjoy a drink or a bite at The Courtyard Bar & Restaurant, host an event in one of our three stylish function and conference rooms, or soak up the views from our gorgeous outdoor roof terrace.
At the heart of the hotel is our wedding space, perfect for lovebirds: it welcomes up to 80 guests during the day and 130 in the evening, ready to make every celebration unforgettable.
Housed in a charming 19th-century building, The Lawrence got a full makeover in 2018, blending timeless elegance with modern luxury. Think roll-top baths, classic subway tiles, Victorian tiled floors, and beautiful sash windows all sprinkled with design touches inspired by some of the world’s most celebrated hotels.
Whether you’re here to relax, celebrate, or just admire the style, The Lawrence gives you a space that feels both luxurious and welcoming where every detail has its own story.

Olivia and her amazing team made sure every single detail was meticulously planned and executed perfectly !! What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Remember what the day is truly about the two of you.
It’s so easy to get caught up in details, timelines, and everyone else’s opinions, but at the heart of it all is your love story. Make decisions that feel right for you as a couple, not just what’s trendy or expected. When you stay grounded in that, everything else falls into place.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One of my favorite personal touches I’ve seen is when couples write private letters to each other and read them before the ceremony.
It’s always such a beautiful reminder of what the day is truly about.

We absolutely love capturing the bride and groom in that beautiful doorway moment, it’s timeless, romantic, and such a stunning way to frame the two of you together.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We are very discreet but you may find them in a famous street in Manchester
What’s your favourite canapé?
My absolute favorite canapé has to be sticky honey sausages, sweet, savory, and utterly irresistible! 😋 They’re always a crowd-pleaser
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
My favorite midnight treat has to be the crisp station, there’s something so fun about grabbing a little bag of your favorite chips late at night, especially after all the dancing and celebration!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our venue blends elegance with a homey warmth, so every wedding feels personal, exclusive and beautifully private comfortable, relaxed, and full of heart. I always say it’s like having a massive house party with your friends and family… and getting married there. Everyone’s together under one roof, the atmosphere is full of love and laughter, and the whole day feels natural, joyful and completely your own.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
The part of our business I’m most proud of is our incredible team we’re more than just staff, we’re like family. That warmth, care, and teamwork shines through in every wedding we do, making each celebration feel truly special and personal
