The Grain Loft

From the outset of planning our wedding we wanted an un-fussy, fun, relaxed and rustic wedding. The Grain Loft absolutely fitted the bill and Elaine and Mark made this vision come to complete fruition. We both love being outdoors and so the venue with its amazing views was perfect. Nothing was ever too much trouble, they were both forever reassuring especially as the day grew closer and the plans had to change due to …. Storm Antoni! The day arrived with strong winds and rain for much of the day, unfortunately robbing us of our outside drinks and photos with the amazing Shropshire countryside but with Mark and Elaine’s help we were seamlessly able to switch our welcome drinks into the marquee which we had hired locally from Enterprise House. At all times they remain totally unflappable and calm. Llanhedric House was also a lovely venue for housing family and friends. Very sociable and with a touch of luxury. With the games rooms, table tennis table, bow and arrows there was plenty for everyone to do and it lent itself to our wedding party getting to know each other. The Grain Loft for the ceremony and the reception (an afternoon tea) looked spectacular with many thanks to Jane’s Petals for the simple yet beautiful floral display. The Loft upstairs was beautifully decorated, with lots of twinkles and feeling all very intimate with its oak beams and rustic feel. It was the perfect size for our wedding party of 58 people. The transformation of the Loft from the ceremony to our bridal suite for the evening was simply magical with some lovely touches (thank you for the sparkly Elaine and Mark!). Our friends commented that Mark and Elaine were ‘always there but not there’, supportive yet unobtrusive. This summed them up perfectly. We simply cannot thank our hosts enough for making our day so special. If you are looking for a small to medium sized wedding in gorgeous surroundings with a relaxed feel then do consider the Grain Loft, we cannot recommend this highly enough.

Wow!!! Huge thanks to Elaine & Mark. We had our wedding at The Grain Loft last weekend and it was amazing. The venue is in the most beautiful setting with incredible views across the Clun Valley. The grounds are well maintained and looked fantastic in the height of summer. Elaine and Mark listened carefully to our requirements and made sure everything was in place on the day. In the run up, they liaised with the caterers and others involved and made sure they were available to take deliveries and to help out. We made use of the whole venue, with friends staying in Llanhedric House and we had the honeymoon suite in The Grain Loft. Everyone we have spoken to after the wedding has commented on what a beautiful setting it is so thanks Elaine & Mark once again for helping to make our day so special. We would totally recommend The Grain Loft to anyone getting married.

My partner and I were planning to get married at this gorgeous venue. Unfortunately, COVID prevented this from going ahead but we’d still like to thank Elaine and Mark for their flexibility, kindness and support through this difficult year of planning. They’ve dealt with us moving the date and changing numbers so amazingly and we’re really grateful for how easy they made it all seem! The venue itself is beautiful with great facilities and in a lovely location. It’s the ideal wedding venue with rooms in the pretty cottage next door and space to make an intimate wedding really perfect. Plus the extra touch of turning the ceremony room into a bridal suite is such a sweet and lovely idea!

Was absolute fantastic from Start to Finish, Elaine was excellent to contact and get response prior to our stay, we hired a hot tub and had caterers which she recommended and both were 5 star

Such a beautiful location, with amazing views and a beautiful garden. It has everything you need, well equipped and really cosy and spacious. The log fires kept us really warm! The kids love the games room! Elaine is really helpful and we really love the welcome pack and lemon drizzle cake. We hope to be back soon!

Lovely, spacious place that could suit all sorts of gatherings. I agree with another reviewer that the photos don't do the property justice, mainly with respect to how big it is! Thank you for an easy and relaxing holiday.

Lovely, spacious and quirky barn. Peaceful and relaxing. Our children loved the open spaces and the garden and we enjoyed the scenery and setting.

On one of my many rides out over the last couple of weeks, my journey took me to the beautiful Shropshire Hills and the Clun Valley, where I visited The Grain Loft, just outside of Clun in South Shropshire. The Grain Loft is an exclusive use Venue available to hire from 2 people (For the Exclusive Elopement Package) though to a maximum of 60 Guests for the Country Love Wedding Package. Whichever package you decide to choose, the Venue is a blank canvas for you to make your Wedding, your way in whichever way you choose. The Grain Loft is licenced for Civil Ceremonies, with the Ceremony being carried out in the upstairs of the Grain Loft. An area with a real wow factor. Guests can sit either side of the Aisle and the room has beautiful 14th Century beams. Once the Ceremony is over, you have the use of the beautiful gardens for your drinks reception, before retiring to the downstairs of the Grain Loft for your wedding breakfast. The Grain Loft has a beautiful rustic feel, while at the same time being light and modern. Adjacent to the Grain Loft is Llanhedric House, which is a self-contained cottage that sleeps up to 16 people and is including in the Venue Hire. If you are looking for something a little more private for your wedding night, there is also a luxury furnished Bell Tent to hire in addition.
