The Feathers is a beautiful Coaching Inn situated in the heart of the pretty English market town of Helmsley accompanied with welcoming Yorkshire charm from our team. With charming surroundings near North York Moors National park, situated at the start of Cleveland Way walk, the area is full of romantic ruins, stately homes and magical gardens. Our unique Inn boasts charm and character with our open fire, original mouse man furniture and the largest function Suite in Helmsley backing on to our newly renovated courtyard. Our large suite can hold 120 day guests including your civil ceremony and wedding breakfast and a 160 for an evening reception, with an adjoining lounge bar and plenty of local churches it is the ideal wedding venue. We excel at offering a personal touch, and treating every wedding individually. You can't take a cookie-cutter approach to events like this. We know how important your special day is, and we also understand how stressful it can be planning it. We are on hand to take as much of the stress away as possible. The Feathers Hotel team are all dedicated to making your day as special as possible. Helmsley offers the perfect backdrop for those memorable pictures with the William Duncombe statue, Rievaulx Abbey and Helmsley Castle nearby.

Stayed here for a wedding this weekend. What a hidden gem. The venue is actually quite big despite how small it looks from the outside. The staff were just the best, couldn’t fault them at all. So so helpful, such lovely, kind and funny people work here. Some of the staff even walked to the church with us ( the bride and bridesmaids). The function room was perfect. Good size room plenty of space for us all. The food was amazing we had afternoon tea as the wedding breakfast. Then pulled pork sandStayed here for a wedding this weekend. What a hidden gem. Really good vegan and vegetarian range which is quite hard to come by in the surrounding villages. We went here for a meal for our wedding anniversary last Saturday. Our daughters who both live abroad had both contributed something towards the meal with the restaurant without our knowledge. The staff went out of their way to make this a really special night. One of them even went out and purchased a card on behalf of our daughters for us. The food was brilliant and the service was exceptional. Would definitely recommend this place for food and service. Wedding CelebrationWedding Celebration
Just returned from attending my daughter's wedding which was held at "The Feathers". Can only say it was a fantastic venue! Everything was very well organised and nothing was too much trouble . All the staff went out of their way to ensure it was the best day ever, a special mention to Tracy and Keith The wedding was top class, food delicious and the overnight stay luxurious and very comfortable. The surrounding area is very beautiful with lots to do so we will return. Would highly recommend !Just returned from attending my daughter's wedding which was held at "The Feathers". Having stayed at The Feathers on many previous occasions, likely 30+ times we have always had a great experience no matter what the circumstances, a memory that will last forever was been sat with the locals, staff and management in the pickwick bar when it was announced that all restaurants & bars must close from checkout the following morning, a dreaded time for the hospitality trade and one I think you will agree was a very unsettling time. From the clients side of the table it would appear coaching inn group has recovered well and is thriving to deliver hospitality more than ever, I see the group is well managed, supported and it is a very personable business to you and your team, I am informed this also includes family from what I have heard in some genuinely positive conversations about the overall business culture. Myself Gary, and Danny my better half recently got married in Puglia, the south of Italy after several years of delays, this included lots of friends and some family, as we don’t like anyone close to use to miss out we decided to also have an evening reception a few weeks after our return in Helmsley at the Feathers for all that could not join us in Italy and the Italy guests also, this has been planned for around two years and has been managed by Tracy, Keith, Holly, Mary and Tom the head chef. In recent months lots of calls, meetings and emails have ensured this all came together last Saturday. I could go into great detail about the event however the meaningful elements are what I will touch on, these do include when things go wrong and as you will know despite the best of planning by us or the team at the Feathers these things do happen, however having said that as a business owner myself it really does show the true colours of a team with how any problems are dealt with, I speak with pride when I say the team were reactive and so passionate about making things right even if it was something we were at fault with. In summary the whole event was amazing, every single one of the team were on hand to provide a flawless evening reception, this includes night porters, maids, reception staff, the entire kitchen team, runners, bar staff, literally everyone. The compassion and love we felt from each team member was so genuine and lovely, a true testament to the business and the values. I would like to say a special thanks to Tracy and Holly for working tirelessly to deliver, when I say tirelessly I mean until they were literally exhausted, Tom and the kitchen team for providing such amazing food and delivering this with great professionalism. I just wanted to ensure the team, led by Tracy have the recognition they deserve, this brings a tear to our eyes when the determination of the team was to simply deliver our vision of a perfect celebration for us and our guests and did everything possible to achieve that, hospitality at the heart really is what the culture of your amazing business excelled. Thank you for everything, it really is appreciated and the very best of luck to the continued success of the coaching inn group. We attended a family wedding and the Feathers was first class. A very warm and welcoming greeting on arrival and shown to our superb room with all the amenities you could wish for. The Feathers has great character inside and out and serves very good beers and wines and the food is excellent. Every member of staff we came in to contact with were wonderful, very helpful and pleasant we can't praise them enough. The whole experience was memorable so much so we wanted to stay another night only...We attended a family wedding and the Feathers was first class.
