We had our wedding here mid-September, and it was the most perfect, most fantastic day! The food was absolutely delicious.. Prawn cocktail - delightful; beef medallions - melted in your mouth; trio of desserts - exquisite. 15 of the wedding party ate here the night before the wedding, and the food was equally as delicious.
The staff here are phenomenal! The friendliest, politest, most courteous people you could ever wish for, who go above and beyond their call of duty. I had a cake disaster, whereby it melted and destructed in my car on the way to the venue. In stepped Matt (the venue's pastry chef), who took one look at the disintegrated, catastrophic mess that was in a hundred pieces and said to leave it with him, he'll do what he can to salvage it. He spent 2 hours working on it, and by what can only be described as wizardry (and a huge amount of talent), he reconstructed us the most beautiful, fabulous cake! I will never know how he did it, and can't thank him enough!
When guests couldn't get taxis back to their accommodation, Becky (bar manager) went out of her way to give people lifts in her own car. She was incredible and so kind, and helped coordinate such a perfect day.
Georgia, who was in charge of running the wedding, was beyond amazing. The whole day was run so smoothly, and Georgia couldn't do enough for us!
The rest of the staff were all amazing too, and so many of our guests commented on it.
The venue itself is stunning, beautiful, yet quirky round the edges, which is what made us fall in love with the place. The management will do as much or as little as you want to help, and they don't charge you extra for all the help they put in. Essentially all you pay for is the food and drink, and in return you get the most fantastic venue, staff, food and memories. I can't thank the Crown Inn Team enough nor recommend them highly enough!! As much as I would like the venue to remain as our little secret, it's only fair to shout about it!
