As a family run business and independent venue, we take pride in being able to provide you with the personal touches and flexibility to truly make your Wedding Day as special as you have always dreamed of. We are based in Leicester and offer a choice of three function suites and our stunning bar, we can hold civil ceremonies and Wedding Celebrations from the most intimate to the grandest affair. Each of our function suites has a licence for civil ceremonies and partnerships to take place.
Built in 1792 and boasting a Grade I listed status, The City Rooms is a venue steeped in Georgian history, which is apparent from your very first steps inside. High ceilings, vast windows and grand chandeliers provide the perfect backdrop for your special occasion, with a magnificent Ballroom spanning the entirety of the first floor.

Our wedding coordinator Emily was outstanding on the day, she went over and beyond to ensure our day was magical and we will always be grateful. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
We love all of our weddings, the beautiful thing is when couples put their own personal touch on their wedding day - it might be personalised table numbers, the incorporation of a theme that is special to them, or including a family recipe in their wedding menu.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
After all the planning and hard work before the day, enjoy your special day! It goes by so quickly, be sure to enjoy every moment!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
At a recent winter wedding the couple went for an enchanted winter wonderland theme and decorated the venue in branches and trees. The wedding began at 2pm and from 9am on the day we lit scented candles around the venue to create a really nice atmosphere for the guests. The couple had a little surprise for guests too – they had an owl fly the rings up the aisle!

Being a family-owned business, family is at the heart of everything we do. The ‘family’ vibe within our team
extends to our guests through our warm and friendly approach. This ensures that everyone who walks
through our doors feels welcome and is given the perfect canvas to create special memories which will
last a lifetime. What’s more, we work with wonderful local suppliers to ensure every wedding and event
with us is carried out to the highest of standards
